I'll have to rewatch this - last time was about this time in 2020. I was spending the night in the hospital due to a reaction to antibiotics that I was given at a visit to the ER. I was a captive audience, in a way. And IIRC, when the US Team beat the Russkies in 1980, I was in pep band at the high-school basketball game. When the announcer said that the US won, the place went nuts.

My girlfriend and I went to a place called the Wholesale Club and I was so happy to find a box of 400 plastic straws in exactly the same size as the McDonald’s ones! Up here there aren’t very many restaurants that give out plastic straws anymore and I hate the paper ones. I had bought a box of 500 plastic straws a while ago on Amazon but they were too thin so I’m much happier with these ones. When dollar drink days begins at McDonald’s I’ll be buying an iced coffee everyday so I’ll make sure both of my cars have a bunch of these straws in the glovebox (thankfully they come individually wrapped!)

I told him I’ll do it. Man I’ll regret it later probably but right now getting out of credit card debt sounds more appealing. I only paid $1,050 for it 8 years ago. I said I’d keep it forever but sometimes forever comes to an end especially as it gets older, cars get faster and it really lags power in today’s time and it’s not great on gas either since it’s carbureted and 37 years old right now there’s no shortage of parts but there maybe after awhile.

I think you made the right choice. The sooner you get out of debt and start going the other way, the better.

None of the McDonald’s or Tim Hortons that I’ve been to in Ontario have switched back but I’ve noticed a lot of sit down restaurants are using them again so that’s a good sign. Paper straws are complete garbage, they start falling apart within minutes of getting wet

I remember getting iced coffee up there - plastic cup and lid - but paper straw !
I get a kick out of the flimsy water bottles and caps that let your fingers contaminate the top - but next to them are one shot sports drinks you could knock someone out with

MD mandated paper straws. My wife will bring stainless steel ones in her purse.
Some of us who aren't old yet, but old enough, can remember that up until the '70s almost every place used paper straws and paper cups.
i think plastic drink cups are relatively new, like the '90s. Even Slurpies used to come in paper cups.

Getting ready to go fix my screwup on the truck. A few months back I put new tires on the back and have been chasing a vibration all this time. Well yesterday I figured it out. My truck is awd plus 4x4 and apparently I picked out a one inch taller tire or they did and the tire shop didn't catch it either. Front is 275/60/20 and the new ones on back are 275/65/20. I bet my transfer case fluid is solid black, thankfully I don't drive the truck very much and only a few miles at a time. Worst case is a new viscous coupling or whatever it's called in the transfer case if they even still sell parts for a twenty year old transfer case.

We are eating at Cici’s Pizza. I love their cinnamon rolls and brownies lol. My buddy is coming to get my truck tomorrow. I’ve been sad all day thinking about it but it’s time for it to go and not be a yard ornament anymore. He’s going to drive her away and I’m going to cry lol. I might eventually look for a newer safer truck though and one that has more horsepower because people almost run over you when you try to take off in the thing. But eventually it will probably be just a memory though just like my 1990 twin truck to this one was and my 1994 Toyota Camry I don’t really miss either one and glad they are getting used elsewhere.

No pictures but some friends came over and we hit the trails. Took two vintage and one has a fairly new RMK 800. Put 20km on and had a blast through the countryside. A great day!

I sold my pick up truck. Now we are going to eat. I miss it already but I’m good friends with the new owner and he’s going to keep me updated on it and also when we hang out he’ll bring it and all of that. I didn’t ever drive it and it’s really slow for today’s time but happy it’s with someone else and I can always keep up with it. Now I also feel like I can get ahead in life too because I can pay off debts.
