What are you doing right now?

I’m just chilling for a bit. There’s about an inch of snow. The boss texted about 6:45 said dealership is opening at 11am so I get some extra time. Probably going to watch a bit of TV and chill.

Up with Juno.

Brisket day!

Slowly rolling into the day. Taking the next few weeks off (need to learn to space vacation time out over the year). Trying to shop for snow tires, analysis paralysis in full swing.

Talked to dad last night, his prostate biopsy turned up cancer. So more imaging and whatnot to come, but no real worries yet--if it's a problem, they caught it early. I told him to look on the bright side, next time he's in a long line going nowhere, he should state that he's got cancer and doesn't have time to waste here. Might as well play it up for all it's worth.

I think the workouts I've been doing are flaring up my carpel tunnel, my hand keeps tingling. Need to stretch more. Darn cold this morning, was 1.6F according to the thermometer, so I have zero desire to play outside.

Find a good competent PT in your area. If it's not too bad he/she will show you release points in arm and shoulder, with exercises that will take unnatural (pain) motions away from your wrist. Works for me. Plus I wear a nice tight compression sleeve while weight lifting and pickleball. Frankly it's more of a mental/reminder crutch than super support but it works.

Wife and daughter know where to go--and I've spent a small fortune over the years. Was looking forward to my HSA finally growing this year as both are off my HSA (wife has new job). I'll just ask my wife what good stretches to do (and then ignore her like the good husband I am).

Ask them about the release point in the middle of your forearm top, center, kinda between the muscles..........you will know it because it might hurt when pressed deeply. I use a firm tennis ball to press the spot.

I was told by my dad's Oncologist, that every man will get prostate cancer, if he lives long enough. Generally it's not aggressive, and can be monitored for years until/if you decide to do something about it. It's generally very treatable. Of course that's under the guidance of your Oncologist.

I am NOT a doctor, I've just talked to plenty of them. And was aware of my dad's prostate cancer, and that of other family and friends.

We figured, it was not a shock, it's quite a common cancer. We're guessing it'll be a bunch of tests now, then something in 3, 6 or 12 months, so as to determine how fast it's growing. Once that's determined, then figure out what to do.

One of my grandfathers had it. They said, let's wait, you might die of something else. And that is what happened. With any luck, same for dad, although I hope he has more than 10 years left in him. :)

So we've got no worries at this time.

Currently looking for gifts for my best friend for Christmas. He’s definitely getting a big pack of soap and several deodorants and probably tons of other stuff too lol. He texted me earlier and is like man I’m so excited to use the new bar of soap you got me man lol.

You started something huge. I can’t wait until shower time tomorrow

Wondering what's going on with my teeth - Monday I had an onlay come off (and of course part of the tooth came with it so they can't just glue it back) and I just had a crown detach itself on the other side of my mouth. Fortunately, no pain, other than what will come out of my wallet after I blow through my dental coverage for the year.

All I want for Christmas is dental work that stays put.

On a somewhat related topic, at a former employer of mine, there was an employee social group and one of the things they did was hold children's parties at Easter and Christmas for the employee's kids. One year I got talked into subbing for Mr. Claus and one of the kids came up to me and when I asked what she wanted for Christmas, she opened her mouth and pointed to the space where her two front teeth should be. Fortunately, Faux Santa was a step ahead of Mom & Dad, who I'm sure coached her to do that, and I laughed and said that she's going to get them anyway so how about a hint for something Santa could actually bring her.

I now return you to your thread, already in progress.
