What are you doing right now?

Drying off.

Brakes on the CRV have been getting bad, and I just realized, the kids are taking on longer and longer trips. Should have good brakes... just needs new rotors and pads, right?

Elected to run out at 7:30pm to get pads and rotors. Do I need to pull all the way into the garage? nah, it'll cool off faster, and I'll be done before the bugs come out. Mind you it's still like 80F out.

That caliper I replaced last year? Yeah... stuck pin. Wrestled with that for an hour before it came out. Used large amounts of my favorite penetrating fluid (cursing). Feels like hot garbage but got it out and back in. Lost a gallon of sweat, hate working without my glasses but it was streaming off me. Maybe I should see if I have a lifetime warranty on this Advanced caliper? think I got it there.

Can't wait to do the other side tomorrow... mind you, my car just went into the body shop so if I brick this I'm down to one car. :(

I'm assuming the new caliper came with a new bracket as well?
When I would replace brake components at the car lot, we used Advanced Auto Parts. Although it was new, I always took everything apart, cleaned it, and applied Sil-Glyde to the pins before reassembling.
Sil-Glyde on pins is the only way to go IMO.

No new caliper (yet). Got the old pin out, it now works after some cleaning. If I can RMA it, I will, but some other day.

I must not have checked the grease, although there was some in there. Water got in all the same.

Ah, finally done. Other side had a sticky pin, and wound up having to remove some rubber grommet on the end of the pin as it has swelled and clearly not going to work. Probably time for new calipers as the bleeder wasn't in great shape. Only filed one pad's ears to make it slide, usually it's most of them. Not bad.

Back is nice and sore now. But the brakes are so much better now.

A guy from Croatia orders a small seal from me for a gun. In a 8x7 mailer it's 1 ounce.... UPS express wants $156.00 basic not overnight

I email the guy and say I can't do it and I tell him why.. he says he will take the $14 seal and please make him sign for it....... crazy
