What are you doing right now?

I'm working on digitizing old photos. Old pic of my Mom from the 1960's. She said this was after a swim meet when she attended college.

Repairing my worn out craftsman garden tiller that they no longer sell parts for. Chain transmission was getting pretty warbly.
It is getting very hard to find parts for just about anything older these days. I read someplace that vehicle makers all decided a while back to keep up with parts for 10 years back ONLY. So , at least for autos and trucks we have plenty of aftermarket companies. Thanks to all of us OCD restorations / collector car buffs. For other parts ? I guess we all have to search the internet and anyplace else we can think of. No pride in manufacturing anymore like before. Now a days one is lucky if the company we bought things from is even still in business by the time we may need replacement parts. Near everything is made to be "throw away" today so we have to purchase new junk.
I had a Craftsman garage door opener. I must have had it over 25 years and rebuilt the tiny gears inside 3-4 times. Finally, Sears / Craftsman is no more and my opener finally bit the dust. Replaced with a new one from Lowe's. Wonder how long it will last?

I went for a drive in the Corvette and stopped at Walmart to look for some Hot Wheels and I found a couple of these 240z’s 😍View attachment 277753
My youngest grandson (age 5) must have over 200 of those Hot Wheels in a bucket in his room. He has so much race track across his room one can barely get in there. I honestly do not think he can walk unless he has both hands full of Hot Wheels cars or he would be off balance! LoL His parents want to murder me each time he stays over because I send him home with new toys every time. Same for his older sister bringing stuff home. :rolleyes:The parents are not happy about all we spend on them. Mainly because they want to bring it all home!

My brother had a brown 240z
1972 but he got it used in 1977 and by then the underbody was well rusted but it was a nice little car.
I wanted one of those really bad when I was about 17-18 years old. I cut grass and worked doing odd jobs for a lady down our street who owned one. She was a widow and she would let me take it for a run down the highway and then pay me to change oil, wash and wax it about 3-4 times a year. She turned around and traded that 240z car in for one of the new model Mercury Cougar.. I think a 1976 or 1977. From a small fast car she went to a giant luxury style land barge.

Watching our latest "weekly weather event." Our local news weather folks really enjoy them. They can barely contain themselves when we get these great big area , late spring rainy systems that float across the country. We get really lucky here and most of the systems go just north above us and we hardly get any rain just like now.

UPS man banging at my garage door while I'm machining and I trip over a cord that usually isn't there and fall into a another lathe and bounce off it and fall into a bunch of crap like a shop vac and scale etc.

He heard it and dropped the boxes in an attempt to escape. Nothing to sign for so I reamed him.. A new guy .... got busted up but back to work...

I’m chilling. It’s one of those days where loneliness has got me. But that’s ok I’ve made it thru before and can this time too. I try to think positive but it’s very hard. I’ve been looking into activities to do here with people. I live in the suburbs of a medium sized town but not having much luck finding coed groups of the things I’m interested in. Or if they are coed there are no girls in them. I don’t know what to do besides give up at this point.
