What are you doing right now?

Finished a light lunch. Will get outside for a bit, get a bike ride in. Then back at it, the work job that is. Sunny today and Friday, rain or otherwise not as nice between, so that works well for my WFH M/F setup (I often work late into the evening when I take long lunches).

A former boss ordered me some USB to I2C widget that came in at work; I'm itching to try it out for side projects controlling things. Figured out how to make a rudimentary GUI in python, and have it touch a comm port, so this is next step (had it talking to an old Arduino project that I did). I'll never be a programmer but it was a fun weekend, first working with python then rediscovering PIC chips (and realizing, they're wicked useless now--but it was fun remembering how I used to program in assembly).

Driving home from a weekend at The Strip in Vegas.

So I thought I'd add some more context. We took the Plaid, it was approx. 420 miles each way, with some driving around Vegas while we were there. The 420 mile trip each way required a recharge en-route to cover that distance. Supercharging is 'free'*.

The self-driving feature worked well on the long highway runs. Dragracing fans apparently like Tesla, as we got lots of thumbs up from fans. The car was unscathed during the weekend.

*Advertised as free, but you of course pay for it in the price of the car.

I gave a historical walking tour of Niagara on the Lake to a very lovely couple from Puerto Rico this afternoon. It was almost 70 degrees here today! And I got a $20 US tip 😃
I have another walking tour to do tomorrow with 4 people, but it’s supposed to be raining and only about 45 degrees 🫤

I buy clothes at Kohls. Inexpensive good quality clothes.
I do Walmart for stuff I won't buy at Goodwill--shirts from Goodwill, the rest from Walmart. It's not great but I get a few years out of whatever item and I'm ok with that.

I did break from tradition this past week and ordered a pair of Brooks sneakers from Amazon. Had a trip to NYC and realized, I'm wearing junky hikers from Walmart that I know don't fit--NYC is a walking city. Finally gave in and ordered a pair. I think they might be a hair too small but I should just get used to it. About time to get shoes that actually fit. Nobody carries narrow sneakers it seems, last shoe store I went into said I might want to shop the women's aisle.

I'm looking at Hotels in Florida because I want AC. I also want to share a bathroom with other people.
I'm watching the 1932 Movie Grand Hotel to get pumped.

Watching the beginning of the Padres game but getting ready to go put some oil in dads truck and hopefully come back and catch the rest of the game and chill. I’m ready to retire it was too busy at work today lol. I’m hurting in my back and knees. I’m definitely going to get some insoles for my boots.

Never heard of them. Quick look shows there is one down in Nashua. Might have to try some day--I really need to find a good shoe shop and shop there, it's been a long time since I tried that.
