What are you doing right now?

Reading about you guys in the US, thunderstorms already??? @Jdeere562
Over all, we did not get hit too hard. Just the usual for spring storms. Never did lose power at my house, but some around did.

Branches down, some roof damages and a few semi-trucks blown over on the highway.

Just normal stuff...until it hit's your house. Right? ;)

Man, we have cold coming back in. -20c ambient tonight and tomorrow night the snow is garbage so I can't even go sledding.

Had a busy day out here. Wife is setting up for an equine obstacle challenge tomorrow, the kids were working, school and riding a pile of horses. Me? Just burned the day up working on my old quad.
After a very brutal winter here that saw the Niagara River below the falls completely freeze for the first time in my lifetime, we are seeing a huge change in weather. It hit 70 degrees yesterday in Niagara Falls

Getting ready to go to the store and get the rest of the ingredients for lemon pepper chicken. I was going thru our spice cabinet and man there was stuff in there that expired in 2003 and 2004 and all the way up till 2024 I’m like throw this crap out lol. I cleared out most of it. Going to buy fresh it’s not worth the risk. We had 4 things of lemon pepper seasoning open one expired in 2018 then 2023.

I'll be over a 6pm

You might meet your spice girl at the store....go out looking good
I wish lol. I’m ready to give up on everything honestly. To quote Nickelback “it’s like the bottom of a knife and I’m never gonna win”. I could go online and try to buy a wife like my coworker did but I’m not interested in anyone outside America lol.

Great things come to those who wait..... give it a few weeks....
Good things don't come easy

This thread is interesting.
I'm sitting, unwinding from a brisk walk with the dog and Mrs. Kira, who's in the next room.
We began our walk after visiting a nearby brewery which likes dogs.
It was a fun, energized setting as a mixing desk AND DJ was setting up. People were arriving with food and joy.
In other words, we popped in BEFORE a private party; perfect, as it kept the social juices moving.
The brewery is around the corner from a European car shop I like.
And this was after scoring outstanding vegetables at a smaller market on a cute but real street.

My Chicken w Parsley + Cheese on Salad is for dinner.
It's exceptional, if I do say so myself.

I'm 700 miles from home at my folks place, trying to play Junior Psychologist and gently convince my parents that my dad has to go see a doc for the pain and inflammation he's got in his legs and back. My mom has Dad convinced that he was poisoned by the DPT shot he got last year when he needed stitches for a cut. He's mostly bedridden at this point. Trying to talk them around is like beating my head against the wall.

Another big issue is that their Medicare assigned doc is 100 miles away and my dad can barely sit in a recliner for a short time.

AM, listen to Mr. Miyagi. Patience grasshopper. If it falls into your lap within days it is almost assuredly not going to be great and not going to last. Find a church with a good young singles group. Get to know them. You might meet the one. You'll meet good people worth knowing at least. You'll get involved in activities that keep you active and engaged. You'll have a good time even if you don't meet "the one". Patience and time.

I don't know much about Medicare, but I think it has to do with their supplemental insurance?

Medicare assigned? Never heard of that here in Texas. And 100 miles away? No clue where that is but it's all insane. Good luck sorting it all.
I don't know much about Medicare, but I think it has to do with their supplemental insurance? They live in Montana in a sparsely populated and low income area.

Recently watched this on Netflix: American Primeval

This is a saga about Brigham Young's quest for power and land in Utah in 1857. It is one of the most violent westerns I've seen, but it's very well done, engrossing, and even sometimes poignant. Highly recommended, but be ready for some violence and action.

The movie is based on the true story of the 1857 Mountain Meadows Massacre, a real historical event that occurred during the Utah War.

Oddly, the last scenes are a tearjerker and I found myself tearing up at the end. Turns out there's a very quiet and intense love story happening below all the noise and commotion.
