I'm preparing to leave (it's very cold at the moment) for a "better than average" grocery store to pick up lots of bunch spinach.
Dinner is at Sis's and Popeye's fave is what she asked me to bring!
A slightly different dinner is planned for Christmas this year.
We're skipping 'traditional' menu items. No scalloped potatoes (au gratin to many), for example. A prime rib will be the center this year.
Likely butternut squash with maple syrup (neighbor's trees) and butter....and other things.

So looking forward to it.

At the VW dealer getting an oil change. My car came with prepaid maintenance I think for 30k miles. I do my own oil changes at 5k otherwise.

Dang I thought my dealership was the only one open today haha. Around here it’s a ghost town we are the only ones open as far as I know from what I have heard from my other mechanic friends.

Taking a coffee break. Otherwise helping my 16 year old with her math. If all goes well, tonight I will bring my 4th sled into the shop to get her up and running for the season. Likely won't run it for many miles but it still needs fresh fuel through it.

Have a small-ish turkey in a wet brine for tomorrow. We did our Christmas last night as my wife works today, tomorrow and the next.

Haha I wish. We were the only ones open today in my area that I could tell anyway. Everyone else I know was off because their shop was closed. No point coming to work for one day then being off two at least in my opinion.

Beginning to plan vacation for 2025. Thinking of asking dad if we can go to Mississippi to tour the Toyota plant. I say Mississippi because that’s the only state with one of their plants that I haven’t been too besides Texas lol. But Texas is a bit far. Want to go to a baseball game too but that’s very expensive and we are kinda out of places to go that aren’t extremely far away. I won’t fly so everything has to be by car. Of course no destination is final yet and still have many places to discuss on the list.
