What are you doing right now?

Fixed water heater mixer valve. #106 o-ring for the stem seal and #116 o-ring for the body seal. Old o-rings were hard as a rock. Finally got hot water temp under control.

Getting some food at McDonald’s then going to Kroger to get some snacks for the week. I wonder how many call outs we will have tomorrow since there was football today.

I'm planning some things. Things I've needed to do and haven't like creating a strict budget and saving money. I started last paycheck with $25 to begin. Not a lot but better than zero dollars. My goal is minimum of $20 per paycheck. Have at least $1000 saved at all times. Get all my debt behind me and save, save, save. As I'm getting older I'm realizing that I'll never be successful in life if I don't do anything about it now. So I want to do it now before I get too much older. I'm 22 so plenty of years and I don't want to be broke all my life. Members here have tried to help me out and I've just put it off so time to get my stuff together and take intuitive. I have chosen to save it in cash because if I see it in the bank it would be gone in minutes. Also I typed this whole post on my MacBook and now my fingers are tired lol. I can't type quick enough on a computer lol.

If you put away 15% of your income starting now, you'll be flush later in life. A retirement account is a great idea, too, as the penalties will help you to not touch it early.

Trying to relax , go and get some rest. (HOPE) I have suffered with insomnia most of my life. Sometimes much worse than others. Hell of a thing to deal with before I retired. Been going thru a bad spell since all of my surgeries and medical procedures I went to from Nov 2023 until March/April 2024. Recovery going well they say. I just got two hours sleep Sunday night and then MAYBE 2 1/2 - 3 hours at most last night. Ugh. I even take prescribed medications for it and they are no longer working. If I did not have a certain past , I would start hitting the liquor again....

I decided to stream/watch some of my very favorite music documentaries. First one was Humble Pie/The Life and Times of SteveMarriott.
Then watched Listen to the Music / History of the Doobie Brothers. Now watching my all time favorite. The Last Waltz/The Band.

.My nephew showed up unexpectedly this morning. In the afternoon I did my best to drown him. I mean to say we went surfing and he did well. Because my wife is still away it's guys night. I let my nephew make a pizza and we just finished watching Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Now he's texting his parents and catching up with his friends online. I'm going to try to brush Tigger's needle-sharp teeth. "Tigger, me out, come out, wherever you are."

They just the last few days aired an Indiana Jones marathon here. I like the 3rd one the best followed by the very first one. I had a hard time getting into that last one they did. Glad you explained : did my best to drown my nephew! :ROFLMAO:

TOD is the dark one, the oddball. Raiders is the best. LC is the slickest and most commercial one, and it's almost a beat-for-beat remake of Raiders. 4 was crap and 5 is not even an Indy movie by any stretch of the imagination. Just my opinons.

That sounds very much like a total money makeover for you so you should maybe read The Total Money Makeover and study and follow it. And keeping it in cash in your mattress or closet shelf is not a great (or good) idea. First, it earns no interest. Second, it is instantly available at hand, more tempting than money sitting in a bank somewhere. Set up an account with Marcus or another reputable firm. You can set up an automatic deposit from your payroll or your checking account. Makes sure you remember to pay yourself that way. Starting now, and keeping at it religiously, you can very easily have an extra one million dollars when you reach retirement age.

Eating at Red Robin. I really don’t like burgers but as long as I’m not paying for it I don’t care lol. I cut out all the buying Chinese everyday crap. Hopefully they will cook it right if not it’s going back. I’m mad I had to miss the game to sit down in a restaurant but I don’t want to blow $50 on Chinese food for just me.

And edit: burger went back. Made completely wrong. Onions 🧅 are a no go here for me. Especially when touching the burger and the pickles. Complete remake is in the works. The table next to us complained about something too and there went back too.

Just leaving a restaurant. Talked parents into buying me $25 fajitas lol. Going to the gas station for some sodas then to the bank to put some cash in. A member here gave me an idea for a high yield savings account so I might do that option too. Going to look into it more this weekend on my laptop and see. But the saving money thing definitely happening. I was going to try and save it in cash but that’s too much risk and temptation and it doesn’t draw interest. Since I have enough tonight I’m going to put $200 in savings.
