LJS definitely just gagged a little Horrible; make your own even with frozen seafood from the grocery store would be 2x better for sure. (Fast Food Seafood; what could possibly go wrong)

Who remembers Chesapeake Bay Seafood House? ("Get all the seafood you can eat" was their jingle).... Funny place... kind of like a sizzler with a vertical menu, they brought out each dish you were eligible for [slowly] one at a time on paper plates. What you could get was price based: I remember being young and poor and able to fill up on crap and have a few brews for under $15 The drinks were expensive, that was how they made their money, you kept sipping while waiting for refills. If I recall correctly it was like:
- $4.99 gets you french fries and really crappy hush puppies
- $5.99 adds fried clam snouts maybe garlic bread also
- $6.99 adds some other fried crap
- $7.99 adds a cheap/battered/fried [frozen] white fish or flounder
- $8.99 adds fried shrimp


FWIW: When I was young and we lived up north we went to Arthur Treachers once in a while, If I saw one again, I would be willing to give it a shot

What’s wrong with LJS? Just like to hear what others think as I know a lot of people that don’t like it. Their batter cannot be beat it is so good (in my opinion). If I could order just their batter I would. The chicken is bad though never get that but I’m fine with the fish and sides.

Shot up some gophers in the morning. Then watched my 15 year old daughter ride some horses. Some folks hauled in their penning horses and she put some rides on. My 14 year old had her jumping horse out for a burn as well.

Then off to set my mole traps. Cleaned up my quad, greased it up, tightened some panjo bolts that looked to be leaking oil and hit the trails. It was sure nice out, but man do I miss the snow, I rather have been sledding.

Just got done with my steak. Mom wants to go to Walmart I’m debating if I want to go or stay home and watch baseball. I really want a beer but can’t bring myself to drink one on a work night. Maybe next week when I have a 4 day weekend for my birthday.

I’m genuinely curious as to why people don’t like it. I understand some don’t like seafood but really I haven’t had better fried fish. The batter just sets it apart. I understand it’s not the healthiest thing but man it’s good. In fact I’m craving it again lol. The only close second is Gortons frozen fish sticks lol.

Captain D's was very good but only 1 survives in Alvin, a town about 15 miles away. LJS is good but they've all closed except for 4 remaining in Houston, the nearest also about 15 miles away. I'd drive to Alvin before I drove up into Houston traffic.

I am eating a calzone at a restaurant. Would love to have a beer with it but won’t cause it’s a work night and I’m responsible so saving that for the weekend. Work was extremely frustrating today because of one incompetent mechanic so it gave everyone stress. I’m about done with my calzone. I’m reading up more about DB Cooper suspects. Maybe I’ll be the one who solves it lol.
