What are you doing right now?

I’m researching the closest Sears store to me we are planning on going either this weekend or next to bring back some memories and visit a Sears since we lost ours in October of 2019.

I rebuilt my 9.6V Makita 6093D drill. Old school revival. Mostly fine, the reason it stopped was the inside + battery terminal. Very corroded and the oxide stopped voltage/current flow. Cleaned it back to fresh alloy copper. Then I inspected the mechanicals, all good, most grease still fine, but cleaned and regreased with Amsoil spray grease. I had dropped it nastily more than once. The H/L switch part appears damaged on the outside, and the function was like trying to shift without a clutch, but I noticed the cam pin was dry, I greased it well and function seems much better. Drill spins and holds torque like new with the single aftermarket battery I have left (it's a bit damaged) So I treated it to two new after market batteries! ($21!) https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FSM43Q7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And I started to rebuild my 7.2V Makita 6070D drill. This old dude doesn't really have any mech issues and even as much as I used these over many years and build many decks with both the Japanese grease is in good shape. The problem with this one is the internal NiCd batteries - that's right not even swappable batteries! NOW here is the amazing thing - I decided to try to charge it with the brick charger - and dang this thing was purchased around 1985 and it still works with the original batteries. I'm sure they will die off quickly, but still. WOW. They sell the NiMH cells, with a little soldering skills - ebay, $24 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Battery-Repacking-Pack-For-Makita-7-2V-2-0Ah-Ni-MH-6010SD-6070D-6170D-M001/163141153151?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649

EDIT: BOTH Makita drills have very stout front bearings and Jacobs chucks.

Also I now have 5 cordless drills. These two, two DeWalt 20VMax (one brushed one brushless) and a 12V Milwaukee.

After that I made stir fry Chinese with tons of veggies and left over smoked pork roast added right at the end. Delicious!

Listening to a pursuit on a scanner app. They were going 95-100 on the 101NB and were pulled over just south of Orcutt, CA. Can hear the K9 in the background wanting to munch on some perp again.

Unloading flooring for our bed room. Have to move everything out and start pulling the carpet.

Watching videos on YouTube presently of semi trucks getting blown over by the wind. Now onto something else.

Passing the time waiting for 1PM.. I get to meet The Dad at Carraba's.

Is that Vinyl floor (I'm assuming that since it says Aqua Guard)? I installed vinyl floor in my basement overtop of Dricore subfloor.
Its a vinyl laminate. 15 year commercial rated, lifetime residential. More scratch resistant than a hard wood poly floor.

The reason for the needed scratch resistance!
