Got out screwdrivers to dismount grandmother clock from wall and remove back cover to see if I could make the clock chime/strike again. Pulled the weights up a few weeks ,ago and when I set the time, one of the levers on the chiming train got hung up and clock would not chime/strike. Googled the clock movement to get some ideas on how to fix it. Went to remove time train weight and heard a click from movement. Chiming and striking again. That's all the was needed, just unload the time train and problem solved. It's been two years this coming week that I oiled movement so will do this next week. Probably a few *@#$ and maybe a couple of #&$ and maybe even a #&^%$ or three. The clock never enjoys being violated by removing the movement. Kind of like our cat being snatched up and taken to vet for shots or nail trimming. Gives us the old *&^%$% for several days. And maybe some cat owner can tell me how the cat always knows she is going somewhere and disappears under the bed thirty minutes before we go to leave.
