What are you doing right now?

Just finished tightening up the shade sail. The annual reinstall was mega delayed by life. Looks good.

Thing is I started yesterday...........and nearly stroked out. Hot direct sun AFTER pickleball. Nasty and Canadian smoky.

The bizarre part. I labelled all the parts when I took it down to match the four corners and keep everything in perfect order so it would be just hang, and tighten turnbuckles DONE. NOPE EL BIG NO-PO SR PABLO. Not even close. WTAH???

1) The idiot installer flipped the sail over to even the UV/Sun abuse.

2) They idiot installer thought about the material, stretching, drying (rained last night). I mean this AM E-W cross corner to corner fit with no turnbuckles at all. Huh? N-S had to add swivels, turnbuckles, even chain.

3) If this sucker fails, wife was right. Don't flip it.

Wasn't there a commercial with "pure genius" in it?

Because you see, just because I bought a rectangle does not mean I still have a rectangle!

I know it Jimmy boy. I don’t let it bother me. It’s just annoying. I think it’s the fact that she doesn’t have money and I am wise and have been saving up so I could get what I wanted to get. She just complained because I took the plastic off of all of them and not taking them back. She wants me to give her access to my banks so she can help “budget” I’m like there is no way in heck that she’s getting that information. My dad was a little upset about the cologne but he got over it. He thinks I’m trying to attract girls he’s partially correct lol.
I sure hope you can move out this fall like you said earlier.

The hell is that syndrome when a parent or caregiver keeps someone sick/down so they can use the down person or somehow feel better about their piss poor life?

I believe you're thinking of Stockholm Syndrome.

On the other hand, he is an adult, living in his parents home. As long as he's under their roof, they can and likely will continue to make demands.

The only sure fire way to put an end to it, or at least for it not to effect his immediate living situation, is to move out ASAP.

They're going to continue after he moves out. Harassment. It'll be "poor us", "look what you've done". "You owe us." blah, blah, blah. Along with the current various you can't manage your life stuff they do now. Got to get a stronger spine and do it instead of talking about it.

Very likely, but that's why I said:

The narcissist never wants to relinquish control. But that's a discussion our young friend should have with a mental health professional. They could give him some guidance.
