I got out of jury duty this year...
MD is about impossible to beat..
I sent them 20 pages of medical history...that taught them a lesson...ha ha..

Your parents gave you good advice..
I met my last lady friend at a firing squad...it was a brief romance but very fulfilling.
 
I’m eating a McDonald’s burger. Thank goodness I don’t have to report for jury duty until at least Thursday they said call back Wednesday after 5. We are going to get gas and use the Kroger fuel points and then I’m coming home and relaxing since I didn’t get out of work till around 9 because I was helping this guy paint his rotors.

Jury duty is in the U.S. Constitution and I respect it. You don't want volunteers for jury duty or to be selected and asked if you want to serve or not as that would bring in people with an ulterior motive.

I served on jury duty twice. The petite jury and on a grand jury. Both had an orientation day to explain the process and there were a few cry babies that were vocal and embarrassed themselves not wanting to be there. My county requires jurors show up during the service.
A few co-workers in surrounding counties had the on call type.

My county pays $30 a day. My employer pays my normal wage minus the $30 each working day missed.

I know a lot of us have heard people saying I'll get out of it by saying I hate certain people. DON'T be/live like that. There was one person that was excluded but not sent home and he was sent to sit by himself alone in quiet on what looked like a purposefully uncomfortable metal chair.

Thank goodness I don’t have to report till at least Thursday but hopefully not at all. I don’t respect it at all but that’s just me. That’s the one and only part of the constitution that needs to be changed. The system is flawed in my opinion.
 
Lunch. And car shopping. We got a new CEO last week, and in his address, he talked about challenges to productivity, need to build teams, etc. Which I'm assuming is code-speak for RTO. If I didn't like sharing cars before I sure won't now. Also dealing with the stress of college, daughter got into the school she wants, but oh boy... if I thought my money wasn't going far before, it sure won't be in the future.

At least spring isn't far off.
 
Getting ready to dig into some Chinese food. I need it after a rough day of being yelled at so I reasoned with my people and got Chinese food out of it lol. I sure as heck was getting something if they are going to disrespect me like that no free off the hooks no more.

I woke up this morning and I walked in the living room once they got up and had two bills laid in front of me saying “surprise” they are like so you want us to give you space and privacy and change the rules well then you can pay two bills now then. They said it was coming anyway just they decided to give it to me now instead of after my birthday. Then I got yelled at because somehow the mess in the basement is my fault and because a new credit card came in the mail so I was questioned then screamed at.
 
Have you shopped for apartments yet? surely there's a 1 bedroom somewhere for cheap money. I mean, it's only fair to pay rent at you age--but if I was being yelled at... I'd be gone.
 
See a few cars on CL. A Camry with a stick, that looks promising. But I'd be the only one who could drive it. That's a bit limiting, not a great idea for the fam. Another CRV, a hair newer--says it has hot heat, nothing about ac, so that's a good sign that its dead. But the son likes his CRV and that'd make a good backup vehicle. That I don't want to get stuck driving to/from work.

Few months and maybe I can trade the Corolla--don't want to but it might make sense in the future.

I should go do something other than look at cars and BITOG.
 
I’m researching recipes to cook this week and weekend. I’m thinking about lemon pepper chicken and a few other items. I need a good side to go with it. We are all trying to save money so trying to avoid eating out every night like we normally do. And I don’t know how to cook anything except in the microwave or on the grill or griddle so I need to learn the stove and oven.
