I want to know if I still have my model building skills. It's been years that I have built something like that. I wouldn't want to be caught helpless should I become a grandpa. That's a terrible thought but I want to be prepared even though once the bomb drops I'll have years to get my skills back.
In the 'Photos that....' thread I showed a 1/87 scale Chrysler Town & Country that should really come with a matching teardrop camping trailer. I can't find a nice 1/87 scale version so I'm going to make one - or so I hope. I have put an hour into this project so far and I got most of the parts and a partially assembled rough shell. The large flat piece of plastic will get wrapped around the body of the trailer. The sides and the hatch in the back will be wood colored. The wrapped roof will be aluminum colored The side of the roof has a raised lip that will be wood-colored. I'll be using a tan and a darker brown on the simulated wood parts so it will match the simulated wood on the Chrysler. I may paint the fenders blue to match the Chrysler or maybe I'll use red. I'm too lazy to get my airbrush out so I will probably paint with low-pressure Montana rattle cans with airbrush nozzles. It will take me a few weeks to get back to and to continue this project.

Everything is made from thin styrene sheets. The wrapped roof is 0.4mm thin. Gluing it onto the shell with plastic glue is out of the question because the glue will warp, the thin plastic. I'll have to use C/A glue very carefully.

I couldn't hold the wrapped roof/wrap tightly while taking a picture but the fit will get good. I have no yet sourced wheels and tires. The model's parts need to be painted before assembly.
