What are you doing right now?

Instead, he's driving the piss out of his mom's Taurus  Another vehicle he can't afford to fix if he blows it up.

How far back do we go on this train wreck? The Honda? The Expedition? The Blazer? The Volvo? Systematic destruction through abuse and neglect while burning money on useless wizards to address wholly imagined "problems" while tires are run to the cords. The vehicles, rolling liabilities, eagerly courting disaster, being piloted at speeds they should never be going, mere inches from people totally oblivious to the rolling hazard blasting by them.

As you note, some nod given to responsibility with money and avoiding blindly casting it into the void would have allowed for purchase of something in decent mechanical condition with good reliability. Instead, there's no money, and efforts are being made to accrue enough to try and source the 4th engine for a car that's clearly too far gone to be worth the time, effort, or expense.

I remember us having a conversation about what would be a smart purchase for somebody with limited means that would provide good reliability and minimal expense. I also remember that advice being soundly ignored, as it is now. It was frustrating then, and even moreso after, as the saga grew legs, chapters even. That's why I no longer engage with him. Why bother putting in the effort to provide sage advice if it always falls on deaf ears? Wasted effort, wasted time, wasted investment.
That must have felt good 😷

@JHZR2 you're not getting satisfaction on this. Remember Michael McDonald? "What the fool believes, the wise man has the power. To reason away" - that's you, you're the wise man. You have it all figured out. You want me to ultimately buy another car. I'm not seeing that need yet. It's just back and forth with you about that. We disagree.

I don’t need satisfaction for anything you do. I don’t know what you think is reasonable rationale to sink thousands into a car that is only worth scrap.

I’m sure @The Critic or @Trav can state how many hours of labor at $150/hr plus tax it takes to convert that short block to a working engine and swap that long block in.

Youve shown everyone time and time again that you’re incapable of listening and accepting the right thing to do, then the situation blows up in your face and you’re back at square one. Here we are again.

Let me see if I have this straight. You’re putting the fourth engine into a 270k mile car that doesn’t have the actual awd system working right, has a big dent with exposed rusting metal in the back corner, respirated headlights, and questionable AC. Did I miss anything?

lots of folks want to see you get ahead. But here you are about to waste thousands on the same junk car. You’re not starting out on a plan from the start. You’re setting your self up to be two steps behind coming out at the start. And it’s entirely self- caused.

Getting screwed over!!! Went to get more filtered water refill, came back and she bougarded my seat 💺🪑.

This is endless. I don't need you to not need satisfaction. I'm having a difference of opinion with you and that is all.

Now how much longer are you going to keep talking about it. And think whatever you want. Seriously. You're not getting any satisfaction here and whatever you think is what you think.

I just gave my 6 year old a bath, which was funny tonight because she is so tired that it was all I could do to keep her awake in the tub lol.
My 6 and 28 year old girls left at 08:30 and came home at 20:40. They are filthy, bleeding, but so happy and had a great day!
While 6 slept in the car for 90 minutes on the drive home, she was more like a zombie than a human trying to walk in the door and get her shoes off. I had to help her undress and get into the tub. While I was washing her hair she fell asleep 😁😁😁
I got her clean, dried, into her jammies, and carried her to bed. Kissed her forehead goodnight and told her i loved her and to have sweet dreams, she didn't utter a peep back. Usually I read to her some, and we talk...she hugs me and tells me she loves me. Tonight she is just out cold.
I come out to the living room and my 28 year old is asleep on the couch with the tv on.
I guess tomorrow I will hear all about their big day of hiking and fishing.

According to your signature write up, you have a 2022 Nissan. Why not sell everything else, and just drive that.
Saves a fortune on gas, insurance, repairs, and also headaches.

Oh that's a car that's in the family but can't be my daily because it hasn't been passed on yet. I've heard the old man talking about wanting to get me into a new or vehicle but he doesn't understand that there can be times when I barely have $50 to my name. So.. He is fully aware of the new opportunity that awaits me and is actually doing a good job of lifting my spirits that I'll actually get the security clearance that I need.

He likes to have two vehicles, as well. That's an occasional use car.

He really likes Nissans.

With the opportunity that's in front of me all this stuff I'll be able to laugh at it in a couple of months so. Yeah I'm bleeding Leigh ignoring negativity and I'll address the rationale behind things if they need to be addressed in private with people. I'm really not concerned how it looks I've always wanted a car where the engine had to be a 100% rebuilt and I've instructed my mechanics that they will want the short block as a core so it is my hope that they'll be smart enough to save the oil Pan and all the other stuff that needs to come together I'll buy the 6 star MLS gaskets and I'll finally have a car that I can use for as long as I want... Some of these instances portrayed are other people's dreams and not my own but again i'd be going off-topic. I wanted to address what you posted. There's also a Nissan Murano but I really have no interest in that one.

Presently I'm driving to Elizabeth New Jersey. There are some late night errands to attend to and I have to hit a bank along the way. "Hit a bank" Means make a deposit at an atm in case anyone is wondering. The ATM is 24/7

Like the Taurus, that's also in his signature, that's not his car. It's a car that belongs to somebody in the house in which he resides, or belongs to a family member. His car is a clapped-out Subaru (Speed Racer Mach 5 in sig) that's just had engine #3 fail. @JHZR2's description of it is pretty spot-on. It has high mileage and it's a basketcase with numerous unaddressed problems that would ultimately cost far more to remedy than the car was worth, if he could afford to fix them, which he can't.

I think he heard that line somewhere and thinks it sounds clever, despite it in no way fitting with the discussion you are attempting to have.

It'll be different this time. Just like it was different last time, and the time before, remember? As I said, it's groundhog day.

If you only listed your own personal vehicle, or vehicles, in your signature, it would be much less cluttered, and confusing.
Drive safe.

I included the Sentra because that's one that I really wouldn't mind owning one day. But I kind of see your point with that. I do really like the car.

I'll take out the Sentra.

@CanAmAndMore It can be done... When it overheats and you keep driving, it's a better chance than not it won't survive for after it cools down.

You're correct, "it can be avoided" .

Presently:

@CanAmAndMore It sounds like you "own" those vehicles in some sense in being responsible for them.. no? But I do somewhat understand what you're saying (the business owns them) .. That's a great accomplishment as well.

Some might say that I own a lot more than I actually do personally. I don't count the fleet of semi trucks, pickups, suvs, or the heavy equipment as really being mine, even though I am the sole owner of the companies.
If it isn't my personal vehicle, I don't list it as mine.

No clue how someone blows up multiple engines.
I'm old, 52, driven more than 8 million kms, possibly 9 million, stopped really keeping track years ago, and blown up exactly 0 engines.

I have 2 vehicles with replaced engines in my driveway. But they came with bad engines. I bought my truck cheap because it ate a few washers and bolts and had them embedded in cylinder 5. My Grand Marquis was cheap because it lost compression on a cylinder.

The Subaru in question needed head gaskets. The owner decided to swap in a Japanese smaller displacement EJ20 engine. That had many issues and was replaced with this higher mileage EJ25 engine with known issues.

Engine #1 would probably still be in the car if the owner had just done the head gaskets. Engine #2 should have never been in the car but never really had anything physically wrong with it.

Just sat down at Primanti Brothers in Pittsburgh. Eventually we will make it back to Virginia lol. We are so far behind schedule it’s crazy. I wanted fast food but if I don’t have to pay then it’s great lol. They have a drink here I really want to try called a Drunk Duck but I don’t want to spend any money on alcohol I’ve got better things to spend money on.
