What 0W-16 are you using?

Mobil. Mobil 1 is a family of synthetic lubricants produced by ExxonMobil.

Doubtful. Typically, the lubricants are developed with an additive supplier, like Infineum, Lubrizol, Afton...etc, who know more about lubricant design, additives and their behaviours than any car company on the planet.

How much oil flows is determined by the oil pump, not the filter. Most oil pumps are positive displacement, which means that, unless the relief is engaged, they displace the same amount of oil, which then goes through the filter, with every rotation.

Toyota also doesn't produce oil filters, they are produced by several different companies, depending on the application. Toyota also sell "fancy aftermarket" filters with higher efficiency ratings through TRD, FWIW.
Toyota also doesn't produce wheels, and door handles, so what's your point?

So, just to confirm we are on the same page, you've joined this forum in order to spread the word of Toyota (and I assume other OEM's) to just follow whatever the manual says?

Curious then, what interval are you changing your oil at? What interval does Toyota say it should be changed at?
Toyota says to change it every 10k miles in ideal conditions, I have done that on cross country road trips. In severe conditions, that most of us qualify for, every 5k miles.

If Toyota engineers are fine with some particles going into the motor, then why do you want to filter them, for what? If Toyota engineers want to have certain additives and their certain amount in the oil, no more, no less, then what Einstein are you to try something else? Just do what Toyota tells you to do, keep it simple 🤷‍♂️
Wut? Now you’re just being silly.

This post is a joke. You are showing a fundamental lack of technical understanding on any level.

Ha! some oil filters restrict flow to catch every lil lil particle out there, particles that don't matter an iota. You should know better

My point is that you are denigrating products from some of the same companies that produce products for Toyota, for not being designed "by Toyota". Toyota builds or specs things to a price point just like any other OEM, which means compromises are made.

Doesn't the vehicle have a maintenance minder to tell you when to change the oil? I'm pretty sure it does, and I'm pretty sure it always ticks off 10,000 miles, correct?

Ha, it just shows the lack of your knowledge of Toyotas. The oil light comes on at 5,000 miles, not 10

Those same companies make Generac products that will fit all companies' requirements. I wouldn't trust them for my Toyota

Yes, I own vehicles that use IOLM's that aren't mileage counters but instead calculate the interval based on operation conditions.

Is it the oil light or the maintenance light? What's the exact verbiage? Because the Toyota website says 5,000 mile maintenance intervals (not including oil) and 10,000 mile oil change intervals, and these are blanket.

The ones that Toyota Engineers decided and made the OEM oil filter for it 🤷‍♂️
So then why does Toyota offer higher efficiency filters through TRD? Why has Toyota used different filters, of different efficiencies, with different medias, for the same applications, when they changed the 3rd party manufacturer of the filter?

Do you mean generic? How much overlap do you think there generally is with something like an oil filter?
Dude, stop picking on typos. Come on man, I'm not typing my resume here. You guys have a lot of time, seriously 🤦‍♂️ Just follow what Toyota says and you will be fine. Toyota oil filter costs 5 bucks
