Finally got our first EV! 2024 Model 3 Performance. I’ve driven our family’s Model YP previously quite a bit and loved it so I finally pulled the trigger. We have solar and a 30 amp charger already installed so i figured why not. This thing is a rocket and I love the overall looks, especially the stock 20ā€ forged wheels. I feel a lot of cars lately have been getting better and better looking OEM wheels. Just got it tinted yesterday and removed the aero caps from the wheels. I think it looks much better without em as you can see the brakes now. I’m not a fan of how low profile the tires are though. I’m afraid to curb them.

Pick up day was very busy at Tesla Rocklin

I might love one as a second or 3rd car :p Love it even more if it actually cost what it says on the homepage.
Would replace the elantra with one.. and drive it everywhere local
Of course the elantra has 3 more payments.. what is not to love about that... No point in paying cars off early with the interest rates we got.

Best deal would be the Model 3 Long Range RWD for sure with the $7500 rebate!

Wow!!! Congrats on the new rocket!
If you don't mind, how do you remove those wheel covers? Snap fit or ?
They snap out. I use a plastic interior trim tool to pry em out a bit to get your fingers in there then pull them out. I did spray some polish cleaner on the tool and tabs hoping to help with less friction. I’ve watched videos where some remove the wheels to try to get them from behind by removing the spring clips, but it’s gonna be the same end result. No matter how you do it, the plastic tabs by design will leave minor marks.

Congrats. Im sure its a blast.

I'm looking at the gap lines and they look pretty good - better than my ridgeline when I got it.

Can you take a rear end shot so I can look at the light and hatch variances?

Thanks!

Thanks sir!

Looks pretty tight. doors, roofline pillars, tail lights cant tell on hood.

Only thing I see is about a 1-2M deviation between the left and right signal. Just under the light in the U.

The rest looks better than my honda did and about on par with 80% of the stuff from japan which is to say pretty good.

Last thing I looked at was air integra type S which was a bit tighter overall but has a few glaring issues of its own.

I cant really see paint on the web but that looks pretty good too.

sweet.

My worry on these 10 second sleds isnt tesla (or anyone here) specific - its performance availability issue.
It used to be a 500HP was a supercar - now at 50K it's cheap, there's no more barrier to it -
Like a motorcycle. Just because one can buy it doesnt mean one should or has the provenance and background experience to have it. It used to take skill to drive a 500 HP car, now even your grandma can just mash it.
I drove 10 seconds cars a lot and have had many 9 second bikes, and it took a long time to be able to really handle it.
500 horse has never been so easy to manage its really amazing.

Yes, as I've mentioned in the, past, the V-MAX owners group (forum) had (has?) an obituary section with a shocking number of entries 😬

A 10-second fox body (which I've never owned, but have a couple friends that have/do) on the street, if you over-tickled the go-pedal, was like trying to wrestle a wet Mongoose. Now, you can get a 5,500lb SUV (Trackhawk) into the 10's with a pulley, and it tools around like the portly luxury barge that it is on the street. With EV's, that level of performance is now available at 1/2 the price! It's wild.

I found the i4 M50 pretty intense when I stuffed it, and it's a mid-11's car (0-60 in 3.3) at ~120mph. Front tire were pawing and giving a bit of torque steer while it blasted out of the hole. There are absolutely folks that are going to get in trouble with this amount of power, regardless of the number of nannies.

The acceleration of the M3P is absolutely awesome and dangerous. It will scare the heck outta you and your passengers.
I run the car in Standard mode, from the Dynamics screen. It is still turbo fast, but becomes a great daily driver.
While there have always been dangerously fast vehicles, Pandora's Box is now open to the masses with this car. There will be others.
