Weed eater recommendations?

I'm not sold on anything yet either way 100%, but the ones I have been looking at are 60v like the Ego carbon fiber power + 56v, or Dewalt Flexvolt 60
How much are those and how long do you think the battery will last and what's the cost of another battery? Sounds like you should just get the Echo and not overthink it.

Depends. If you are trimming grass every week - 225. More than that, I would go 2620.
I have a 210 that I use on a few lawns, and it’s great.

Okay I think I'll just get a 225 unless my local dealer has a good price on the 2620.

Would you recommend the Echo red armor pre mix fuel?

How long are you going to run the trimmer for and how often are you going to use it?

Okay so I am really leaning towards battery powered now, is there any standouts under $300?
I have the carbon fiber shaft Ego. Love it. Paid about $150. Gets top ratings in most tests. I got their leaf blower and hedge trimmer also. Great stuff.

I'd suggest a Stihl Kombi series. Spend the extra money, you'll be glad you did years down the road when the Stihl is still running.

Having the ability to replace a lot of my old stand alone OPE has been handy too thanks to attachments (Leaf blower, edger, trimmer, brush cutter, etc)

We have 2 houses and take care of another one. It seems like the lawn equipment is never where we need it so Mrs DuckRyder went and got a battery trimmer with a blower attachment.

The Ryobi guy talked her out of a Dewalt (I'm not thrilled) and she got the 40V carbon fibre Ryobi straight shaft with an expand it blower attachment.

It's actually fairly impressive and the battery will charge in 45 minutes or so. The first one did have an issue with the indexing button on the trimmer attachment not locking. The ease with which they gave us a new one would suggest it wasn't the only one.

I'd still suggest the Kombimotor.

I would seriously look at the new electric stuff. Im a gas man myself but I think the next weed wacker is going to be electric.

FYI I have the green Weed Eater 2 stroke. Its 8 years old. Other than hosing out the carb with carb cleaner, it runs perfect. 99 bucks is what i paid for it.

About once a month, I’m on a crew that weed-wacks our church cemetery. It takes us about two hours and we did it last night. The temp was in the 90s and by the time we were done, I was beat. Anyway, one of the guys used an EGO battery-powered wacker and I was really impressed by it, myself a two-stroke user. His was lighter, of course, quieter, and he has the feature of self-winding the string. No gas to buy and no carburetor gumming during the off season. I will not give up my gas-powered wacker, but I’ll at least have an open mind.

My closest echo dealer has the SRM 225 for $199, so I'm probably leaning towards that, although I do need a blower too so an electric combo kit seems appealing

An electric blower isn’t too bad, but if you are blowing a lot of leaves in the fall, a gas blower is very handy.

I think I might need a brush blade for the overgrowth part of my hill that is getting pretty dense, I could get a picture tommorow if needed but do brush blades work on most everything?

Depending on what you have, you might just be able to struggle through it with string and just keep on it vs buying a special blade and dealing with the hassle of switching them in and out.

I bought some cheap John Deere branded string on eBay 3 years ago and it does decent. Just goes through it a tad faster.
