Got a used "Green Machine" weed eater and was wondering if anyone has heard of this brand and who makes it. How do they hold up? Seems like a decent quality unit. Any testimonials or horror stories? Thanks.

my dads got a bunch of them. his all seem to have model airplane or go-ped engines. a company called zenoah makes em, or atleast made them. i have never seen any new ones for sale anywhere.

i guess you could add a racing go-ped exhaust and big bore carb to youre weed eater if you want? looks like the same engine.

As mentioned Greenmachines where made by Kamatsu/Zenoa. These same amchines are branded as Redmax now.

I've had a couple of them. The first was a 3000 without the solid state ignition. Very hard to crank. The second was a 3000SS (solid state). Much easier to crank and run and was a very good machine. They hold up well and will take a lot of punishment.

I used one when I was working a lawn business with a buddy, I preferred it over the craftsman brand that he would buy on sale. The craftsman wouldn't last an entire year. I used the Green Machine for over 2 years with no trouble (this is doing over 70 lawns every 2 weeks in the summer. Also we ran the cheapest craftsman 2 cycle oil. I wasn't an Amsoil dealer then. We had lots of trouble with the exhausts gumming up on the craftsman(becuase of the crappy oil)
