Weather is going to get hot

Not a bad shot of the Pier. I usually don't see it with so few people. You could have found me fishing there every Saturday night back in prehistoric times.

It's 28* here, and hasn't been above freezing in almost a week. It snowed 4" last Wednesday

Saturday, it was ~86* F here, with very high humidity. Cooler air blew in late Sat night, Sunday it only got to ~64*. Today still low 60's. Tomorrow?

Typical ETx spring weather, nothing unusual here.

I drove to Big Bear today.

It was about 60 degrees there but the sun was so intense I used the air conditioner----the dash would get that hot. Snow is about three feet deep all over the place but melting fast. There are still a few piles from snowplows about 10 feet high. Every tiny ravine has water flowing in it. Big Bear Lake is full to the brim and water is surging over the spillway. The ski runs are still going full tilt.

I figure that snow will be mostly gone in about two weeks, except on the North sides of the hills patches will linger till July or so.

Down below the bugs and bees are already out and birds are already building nests. The Tree Of Heaven in back is putting out buds. In Alhambra tomorrow's forecast is 90 degrees.

In Irvine 84 Thursday then dropping to 62 on Sunday, mid 60's to low 70's next week. It seems raining season is over for So Cal, this year we had above average rain fall.

I was out on errands today. In Arcadia the car thermometer said it was 95 degrees outside. That was while driving, not after parked in the sun.

I got home and it was almost 90 degrees inside, as I live in a top floor apartment with a roof angled to the South. I turned on the air conditioner. I looked up the temperature averages for my town. I then turned off the furnace pilot light and it will stay off till November. Why burn gas and heat up the place for nothing?

It is hard to think that about ten days ago it was so cold and rainy, with snow in the hills around here.

Check out Tenderloin's post a few days ago. People are all over the beach next to Huntington Beach Pier.

Hey Tenderloin: Do the retired Marines still catch those big bat rays off the end of the Pier like they used to back in the old days?
