Wax vehicle once a year, what to use?

Collinite and Zaino are supposed to last a long time, but I haven't had much with luck with either. They do leave a nice appearance though.

When I used Nu-Finish, I always got a month or two at least of beading.

I use 2001 by Turtle wax and it seems to last a good long time on my Jeeps' finish...but may-be it's the high quality Chryco paint

Update on Collinite:

I didn't have much luck with the first coat I applied in December. It was pretty much gone by early March. There was almost zero beading. I was really disappointed.

I put another coat on 3 weeks ago when it was about 80 degrees. The Collinite spread much better.

We've had a ton of rain the last 3 weeks and I drove in the rain last weekend quite a bit. The car was covered in road film. There hardly beading at all on the top surfaces of the car, but the sides still beaded nicely. I gave the car a wash today with Zaino Z7 car wash. The beads came back nice and tight on the hood and pretty decent on the top and trunk and rear bumper. The sides beaded nice and tight.

I really think Collinite Insulator wax could possibly go 6 months, but I can't stand to go that long.

I still do not believe in waxing/sealing a car once a year. I just do not see how it can protect that long. It cannot shine very well at the end of a year.

IMO, the process of cleaning, polishing and waxing/sealing the finish removes contaminats that reqular washing does not.

Just an opnion.

Actually I do 'believe in' irregular washes as commercial car washes are hard on finishes. I'll make a mark in the sand that washing every week to 'keep it clean' and 'to protect the car' is worse than not washing it, provided one has a good coat of wax on teh car. I prefer to wash the cars with lots water that has a splash of window washing fluid in it, to 'save the finish', but I don't always have the time to do so. I'm trying out Nufinish now, and used Rain Dance for years as it seemed to last longer than other finishes. The Nufinish definately comes off easier, and it seems to even clean better. I noticed that I could keep reapplying it in an area and letting it dry, until the buff rag came out clean. Anyway, I'll see how it lasts.

I would also recommend Klasse AIO and SG. No wax will provide the length of durability of Klasse or most other acrylic or polymer sealants. But chances are even by using the Klasse twins, you will not get a year out of them but six months is very possible. Think of going 7500 miles on dino oil before a change. It can probably be done okay but?!?!

The best way I know to extend Klasse protection is to refresh and rejuvenate the base applications. To do this you need to make a solution of 3 parts distilled water/ 1 part SG. Place in a mister bottle or better yet, one of those refillable aerosol cans you buy at Harbor Freight (on a 1/2 price sale right now for five bucks). This solution should be applied like a QD which most people do anyway after each wash. Basically, you are applying a dilluted coat of SG with each quick detail.

First of all, however, be sure you cure the initial application of SG. After your AIO, space each of three coats of SG at least 12 hours apart (keep the vehicle in the garage during this process as the car must be spotless for each coat of SG).

If you follow these tips and wash regularly (and keep the car in the garage at night) you might just get close to a year protection - but that is a stretch.
