I have not bought any boat detailing products in a couple of years. What would be best to use on a fiberglass boat for a nice shine and long lasting. Boat is kept inside most of the time.

I have been using this product for a couple of years now. This works well for one step product especially where fiberglass gel coat might have some accumulated stains or dirt. You can use it with an orbital polisher or by hand and it works well either way. Yes it is pricey, but this size bottle at the rate I use it will last me at least 3 - 4 more years.

Has anyone tried new ceramic sealers on a polished gel coat? I have a small cuddy cabin I need to polish and seal before winter; kind of wondering the same as the OP.

Sealers last 6-8 months where as waxes will get you 2 or 3 if you are lucky. Don't know if this rule applies to non automotive applications though.

Been boating and taking care of boats for 30 years. Amateur detailer as well.
Everyone has their favorites. Sealants outlast wax. True ceramic outlasts sealants but cost a few thousand dollars if professionally applied.
So for a boat that sees use but is stored indoors, I recommend these 3 assuming the gel coat is not oxidized.
1- Starbrite premium marine polish with ptef
2 - Meguiars flagship marine wax
3 - Collinite 925
All are easy to use and will get you all season for your use pattern.

I am cleaning up my 1997 Sea Ray 230 for the first time. This is my first foray into cleaning/buffing/waxing a fiberglass boat. It was fully detailed/buffed and waxed in August 2020, it has been used sparingly and stored in dry storage since except for this summer....we put about 80-90 hours on it and it may have sat overnight at the dock 6-8 nights.

There is a slight orange water stain from the water line down, there was a decent amount of dock rash and the upper surfaces/horizontal surfaces are fairly filthy (not as if it's been sitting out in the open for years).

So far, I've discovered that 90% alcohol removes most of the orange stain pretty quickly, what it does, a few passes with a PC buffer and some Mequiar's Ultimate Compound will remove it.

I'm the process of buffing the entire boat with the Ultimate Compound and I plan on waxing it with Mequiar's Hybrid Liquid Ceramic Wax. Mequiar's responded to a question on Amazon about using it for fiberglass gel coats and they said it would be great.
