Today my daughters water pump failed on a '90 Buick Century with the 3.3. Last week we put in some kind of sealer to stop a small leak around a gasket. I had replaced the water pump last year which turned out not to be defective in the first place. Water was seeping out of a very small place close by but not at the water pump.
I'm wondering if the sealer we put in caused the bearings to fail in the water pump? The leak we tried to fix did seal up. I can't remember what sealer we used but it was the pellets or the bronze liquid. I just have a feeling something ate the bearings.

Its likely what you put in caused the leak. I think the BarsLeak is relatively safe. I would always suggesting a can of waterpump lubricant. Not the expensive $3-4 variety- the $1.40 round 12 oz or so plastic container.
