Water pressure booster pump?

I’d move forward with replacing your water line as suggested but I’d still call the water company to verify the meter isn’t blocked with junk.

How much of that bill is a monthly service charge?
 
I would start by installing a booster pump. I have gotten pretty good results with them in those situations. It may satisfy you. Relatively inexpensive and easy. I would shy away from the HF product. Go Goulds or Grundfos
 
Note:

3/4" PEX A will flow more water (less resistance) than 3/4" PEX B.

The type of PEX is critical in the flow of water based on the size of PEX.

Pex A and Pex B tubing are identical in OD and ID....... same flow rate, are both are F1807 compatible (crimp connection standard)

All Pex A is F1960, (Cold expansion connection standard), and more malleble. Pin holes in Pex A can be fixed with a heat gun, cool fact. It is made opaque, and colored after. There are issues with colored Pex A.

Some Pex B is F1960 compatible, rare, but they exist....and tougher.

The increase in flow is due to the ID of the crimp vs expansion fittings, not the tubing.

IMO expansion fittings in many circumstances have several issues with durability when it comes to installation, and enviromental concerns such as freezing.. Crimp's only issue is reduced flow.

There is a $30 service charge for infrastructrure improvement, taxes, fees, levies, addendum's and so on. Even so, the price per gal ends up being about 15c at my use rates.

Guess your right. If one never uses the PEX for plumbing, than in fact PEX A and PEX B pipe have the same flow rate. If one hooks up the PEX to deliver water, then PEX A delivers a higher flow/ less resistance than PEX B when using the same exact size pipe/ tube.

PEX B is popular because it doesn't require a somewhat pricey tool to secure the fittings. Have read hundreds if not thousands of posts and articles, you are the first person I ever saw post that chose PEX B over PEX A for reliability.

Supplementally, having pinhole leaks in copper pipe delivering very hard water in one of our homes, extensive research pointed to PEX A as being the best pipe to use to not fail from the brutally hard water. I have since installed PEX A (antidotal evidence) in numerous homes that I have lived in, and homes of friends. Never a single issue ever, not one.

Pex A can be a good product. The issue is the stress at the connections, especially in cold weather, or if installed incorrectly. If the pipe freezes, it will 1000% fail at the point of connection, right near the fitting. 1000% of the time. More so near transition adapters of brass or stainless. This is problematic for some climates.

But yes, IMO PEX A vs PEX B, I would use B. I have seen more failures with A, by far.

Using multiport tees or manifolds with PEX B and eliminating most of the fittings, and installing pex as it was originally intended, there is no flow difference in delivered GPM with either.

One advantage to PEX A on a professional level, is one cannot assemble the pipe and fitting together without expanding the pipe. Opposed to PEX B where as a joint can be fully assembled, and tested, without being crimped.....liability for plumbers.

They both have their place.

I see a bunch of work, 99% is PEX B.


We are getting\ off subject. For a water main in the OPs circumatance, PEX A would not be cost effective or a smart choice
