Washed my car today after work.

I performed a full detail about a month ago when it first warmed up, including wash, polish and wax. Today, I decided to wash her and take a few photos. She's a 1999 Nissan Maxima SE with 162k miles. I do all of the maintenance on her myself and in the event some repair or maintenance I can't perform, I bring my own parts and fluids to my mechanic and stand next to him while he performs the work. Original paint.

It looks okay under the hood. Nothing special as I'm not a fan detailing and messing with washing the parts under there as I feel more harm than good can come out of this. If this vehicle was a show car, it would be a different story but a daily driver doesn't require anything this time consuming for me. I use Pennzoil Platinum Full Synthetic 5w-30 and Mobil1 or Fram Extended Guard Filter, Amsoil ATF for transmission and power steering fluid, Nissan OEM Coolant, Any major brand dot3/4 brake fluid replaced every 2 years, most other replacement parts are Nissan Dealer OEM or aftermarket that are better.

It looks great for the age and mileage. I wouldn't have guessed that it has 162k on it. Most of the ones around here are pretty beat up.

I like how there's a boot covering the hand brake in that gen.

lol....so is the shop I go to for the stuff I can't...
 
It's rare to see someone take such good care of a 10+ year-old vehicle - good show!

You should do detailing work on the side for exra $$$$....
 
It's an idea. The labor put into this is time intensive and I doubt someone would be willing to pay for such long hours.
 
Most detail guys aren't detail oriented and wouldn't waste time wiping down cracks and crannies like I do on my car. They just buff the cars, giving it a temporary shinny appearance for a few days and that's it. I use nice products, expensive washes, polish's and wax's.

The GLE Maxima comes with black mud guards, while the SE comes with Black. It's an idea but it's probably easier to just swap these for GLE guards.

I meant to say that the GLE comes with color keyed mud guards
