I haven't washed or detailed my cars properly for 7 years

This kind of thing entirely depends on where you live. For example, there is no way I'd use waterless wash on any of my vehicles. I live on country lanes in the UK and the car is never clean enough before washing to actually use one of these products.

If I lived in a nice dry area that was often just light dust coating then it'd probably be a good option.

Here is an example of how my cars often get. This was probably 4 weeks of driving in the UK late autumn.

Love the scenary. If the road was a bit more of smaller rocks and less dirt and or mud I could totally dig this. Love the colour of the doors too

Well if it's a Jeep or Subaru they generally look better on the dirty side. Some are held together I think by mud and grime. Our daughter got us a car wash membership (Club Car Wash) and I wish they had touch less. I like the vacuum element as our Beagle like to go on rides.

True - just tried to do the 1st hand wash on my Jeep at 4 years - grime is bonded 👀 - been better off washing her:
