i am a loyal DT tire guy. i am in need of some new tire and the ones i want DT has discontinued . i found on walmart . having never used their tire services before , what are your experiences with them ?

thanks

Took my sister's hyundai there for some $30 13" rubber. One tire went flat the first night I had the car home, store hooked me up no problemo.

WM even has name brand tires that are as good as anywhere else. Their goal is to keep you in the store for 90 minutes buying useless junk while they hold your car hostage.

I mount my own tires now but get most of my tire deals from WM. They don't object to selling stuff cash & carry.

I often buy sets (4) of tires from there. Mostly Goodyear brand if available since they ride n handle well on the Honda vehicles we drive. I do always purchase the road hazard and lifetime balance/rotation package. They have replaced many many of our tires over the last few years from tire damage , stuff in road we hit or nails we pick up places etc..... My only complaint is they work super slow. Almost on purpose but they do satisfy if/when we have had any issues. I am certain several will start in about stuff like "those tires Walmart sells are inferior , a cheaper grade from manufacturer and on , or they are not up to quality standards and all sorts of other things. I can not recall ANY issue that they did not quickly & fairly remedy for us. (y)

Walmart is an awesome place to buy tires because they have good prices and also use the proper torque :D

The worst thing, though, is that you often have to wait hours, even with an appointment.

There are few tire shops that actually use proper torque and don't just zip it down with the air gun. Walmart and DT are among the few that do it right. Unfortunately, there are no DT stores nearby, though they are finally in PA.

Discount Tire will price match Walmart.

I will probably use Discount Tire forever. I used them several years ago and their machine scratched my rims. When I brought this to their attention, I fully expected them to deny and fight. Nope, they took full responsibility and offered to order me new rims. I declined the new rims because I respected their honestly and integrity. I told them, it's fine, stuff happens.

they had the tire ,but it now discontinued .

I mail-ordered a set of tires from them once and that went horribly wrong. I'll never mail-order a set of tires from them again.

I needed some wheel weights one night while preparing a chassis for a race car and WM was the only place open. They let me dig in their garage area and find what I needed and then refused payment when I was done. The man recognized me and was overly helpful and I was greatly appreciative.

I'm headed to my local W-M for tire installation in about 20 minutes. Have purchased six or seven sets of tires via their website over the past few years, and have never had a problem or overly lengthy installation time. My particular store is quite efficient...and you can't beat their prices on name-brand tires.

Buy them from WM and have Discount Tire install them. I've done this many times buying tires from WM, Ebay, and Amazon.
I just got tires for the Jeep at DT. There was a mixup and I had a long wait for a truck to bring the tires I ordered. On the plus side - I did watch them work allot - gained more appreciation for the job the Techs do - and yes, they use a torque wrench every vehicle …

What does Walmart charge per tire to mount/balance/dispose when you bring your own tires?

Different people should speak up as the prices may differ throughout the country.

The WalMart pricing is uniform in the U.S. as shown on their website. Disposal/recycling fees may be state specific.
