I think grampi knows what he is talking about. There are several things that should be a priority to be made here or at least have the capability to do so and since oil is a major strategic item, there should be a priority for it. The same goes for some of the most important medications to mankind, antibiotics. Many are if not all either wholly made or main ingredients made in other countries and in those that are not the most trustworthy. There are things that should be if the utmost importance made here,forget about a global market.there are some things that are of utmost importance and many don't seem to care.

Here’s the issue: like so many other items it’s a race to the bottom on costs. At one time Puerto Rico was one of the largest sources of pharmaceutical manufacturing due to tax credits. Tax credits were not renewed. Big Pharma looked elsewhere to source raw materials and finished product. That’s why our medical supply line is in shape it is.

My turbo is pretty hard on oil, and it hasn't blown up yet...unless your running a drag racing engine, your just wasting money on boutique oils. ST will work just fine in any street engine...

We are using "their" oil before we are using "our" oil for the most part...

See what your favorite NAPA has in store branded oil. It's been packed by Valvoline for decades. Some debate over if it's the same as Valvoline but I trust it. Often, it's competitively priced.

Would you feel safe running ST for the 10K miles that my IOLM allows?
I sure wouldn't.
How much shear do these cheap oils experience?
What is the content of the more expensive adds, like moly?
Finally, the absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
If you think it's worth saving a few bucks a jug using bottom dollar oil, then have at it.
I personally don't.

I've been using it for decades in all of my vehicles, including my motorcycles, which are much harder on oil than any passenger car engines. That's proof enough for me that it works just fine...
