Stock up. They don't sell it anymore since last year about this time down here. They say there is no market for it. I have been to walmarts from here to alabama and still no 5w30. I talked to one manager who looked it up and at one point it was found at the nearwst location of Washington DC. That sucks. Oh well in goes 10w30

Jugs of it available here. They only had the 5w30 and 10w30 weights. Bummer, I need 20wt and 40wt oils. Price is great for a assumingly group III oil.

TBN and TBN retention are 2 different things.
Only a used oil analysis would tell if you can push the oil past whatever your owners manual recommends.

With the cost of Mobil 1 getting high...I was wondering if you feel that the Wal-Mart Syn oil would be o.k. to use. I have a 2004 PT Turbo and change the oil every 3,000. I see you can get a 5 quart jug for 11 to 12 bucks vs 22 to 23 bucks for the Mobil 1. A tech person working at the walmart tire and lube told me that the Wal-Mart brand is made by Mobil....any truth to that? Glad to be a part of this forum.

ST synthetic should be just fine for 3,000 mile OCI's...if not longer. And yes, depending on what part of the country you live in the Supertech conventional oil is made by either Mobil or Warren Performance Products (WPP). IIRC, the Supertech synthetic is all made by WPP. BTW,

We have it here now. Quarts and 5 qt. jugs. Local Walmart has really cleaned up and restocked the oil isle. Best I've ever seen it.

I use the Supertech Synthetic 10w30. I believe this oil can go to 10,000 mile OCI's. It does great in my truck and having asked earlier on this board was told that it would be OK for that interval. Granted, I drive 95% highway miles with little to no traffic and I use Amsoil SDF filters.

You can get the same quality/same oil life - at the same price as Super Tech synthetic - using a 3-1 dino/synthetic ratio with any name brand.

Just my opinion....
