Walmart oil prices - Ah!

That's wonderful to hear that price support seems to have vanished!

I’ve been through the oil 3 times since the price increase and the QS is always full. Valvoline Restore and Protect was moved to the top shelf. Supply is still not as bad as it was during a stretch of COVID. It will get there but I’m prepared this time.

I know the ESP line is the top tier of Mobil 1, just not sure it's chemistry is best utilized in use cases like my 302

Sadly at my local Walmart Castrol high mileage and extended performance has finally joined the price jump club.

South Oakville has a Walmart now? I lived in NE Oakville for 9 years and there was just the one Walmart near Dundas and Trafalgar when I was there. I miss living in Oakville

Visited my local Walmart this evening, and they are well stocked on everything but Super Tech. Not a single rollback price to be had. This is a first in my long Walmart experience. Best value at the moment is Valvoline Maxlife blend @ $23. Worst is Ultra Platinum @$40.

The house brand Supertech conventional is $29.99 and the synthetic is $34.99. Costco's Kirkland Full Synthetic is still the best deal around at $49.99 for two 4.73L jugs.

Legendary GA16DE. 8000km oil change intervals for 21yrs.
Just got back from a 1000km trip, the Mobil 1 High Mileage 5w30 looks as clean as it did two months ago when I changed it.75-80mph all day 600+kms per 50L tank.
When I do reluctantly give her up, I'll be hunting for a TSX 6-spd manual.

I had to replace the timing chain (guide failure was apparently common on the GA16i) and some bent valves, but that didn't stop me. Having an affinity for all things Japanese, since my teenage years, I've owned many Japanese vehicles ever since. Infiniti and Nissan were always part of my fleet at sometime or another. This leads me to my next point and closer to the topic of this thread. I am preparing to do an oil change on our RDX and will be using some clearance W*M oil from my stash. Total cost including a recent filter purchase, $9.98 CDN, taxes included. Our vehicles are short trippers, so they both get bi-annual oil changes.

Those are the most satisfying oil changes it's a rush to some now put that into mileage if you do a 5000 mile oil change that's a smoking barrel deal @ $.002 per mile.
