Walmart lost my hubcap.

Been watching for a good deal on tires for my F250. A great deal showed up on walmart.com so I ordered them as well as paid the mount and balance.

Sent cousin Casey there today to get them put on.

Unfortunately when she got home It's missing a hub cap.

I assume it came off on her way home. All 4 were there when she left the house with the truck. I made sure of that and debated on leaving them at home but changed my mind and left them on.

I got home @5.30 and when I saw the missing cap tried to call walmart hoping they forgot to put it on but nobody ever answered.

It's not the end of the world but frustrating.

Contact the TLE manager first opportunity. Tell them what happened and see what they say. They have insurance to cover this kind of stuff and/or self insured by corporate. Make sure you tell them you need to go through their claims process if the manager balks at all. Take a copy of the hub cap sample with price with you so the manager can determine the amount that is needed to cover the issue.

Don't let them try to squeeze out. Be firm and clear; elevate to store manager if the tle mgr displays any hesitation or lack of cooperation.

I had something similar happen at a tire shop in Winnipeg. They replaced a missing centre on the alloy wheels of my Volvo 740 Turbo. It was a slightly different (silver) colour, but close enough.

I worked in the wally world tire shop one upon a time. They likely broke it and disposed of it.

I say this snotty thing because all 4 of your hubcaps were on the job for thousands of miles before it went to visit Wally.

I had a set of tires put on my Mazda 3 at Wally recently. They did a good job, other than being a little slow. There was only 1 other person there at the same time, and they couldn't even do her tires as they didn't have the stud lock for her wheels, and she had no clue what they were talking about. They explained to her the "lock" is usually in glove compartment or by the spare tire, but they couldn't find it. I thought it was odd a tire shop didn't have a universal kit?

Corporations expect some amount of loss. All do. My company carries tens of millions of liability insurance to have me running around our customers manufacturing plants.

If the service manager pushes back its just him not wanting to do the paperwork. Any service business expects there to be some sort of loss occasionally.

This is why I not only remove any center caps, I completely remove all 4 wheels and take them in another vehicle.

Another classic move is losing a lugnut then they slap on whatever matching thread pitch they can find, so you wind up with one 21mm hex and the rest are 22mm, or vise versa.

My Big O pushed on a completely different center cap from an F150 at a neighboring bay. It was so painfully obviously wrong, but the employees simply do not care.

And never overlook the really small center caps that just go in a center hole but don't obstruct lugnuts. They'll knock those out for mounting and lose them.

I shop at WM infrequently.
I tried to buy a cellphone there once, it was not a good experience.
I only buy things there that they cannot F up for me.
Now, when I shop there I buy about $25 worth of salad dressing as the price is the lowest in town.

Well here is the update. I have tried calling the tire part, Eyewear, customer service even the pharmacy. Nobody pics up the phone.

The automated voice says try again later.

It's not worth the time or fuel to drive 40 minutes out of my way @6+ per gallon to have them try to weasel out of it.
