OMG! Do you hear yourself? One rationalization after another to allow behaviors that are brutal.
WM will go into a smaller company. Give them a contract for 3X their capacity. Fine and good. Owner retools with a 5 year ROI. WM, after the contract is up, now says they're not paying the same $1/widgit ..and now it's only $0.80/widgit. The small business owner, your alleged hero, is now enslaved just to pay his bills.
WM ends up being the majority share partner.
P'wn'd ..or maybe it should be P'WM'D
I need a shock collar button to push when someone uses "got a link".
Gary, this is a choice that the supplier has to make. If he was trying to enter a market by lowering his price, it is up to him to do so. If he rely only on Walmart for his sales, then it is expected that he would lose out big time when Walmart pull the rug he stood on.
There are many suppliers who refused Walmart's prices and the last time I checked, Walmart is not yet a monopoly. Not until Target, Bestbuy, Home Depot, Office Depot, Sears, Lowes, and all the other box stores are out of businesses.
Just think, if every consumer is only looking for prices, why would we still have Mobil1 in Walmart when there is SuperTech Synthetic?
