Super Tech Oil Filter ST3600

The Super Tech Oil Filter traps two times more dirt than the leading national brand with a specially blended media. The ultrasonically welded end caps give a better seal.

Super Tech Oil Filter ST3600:

Traps 2 times more dirt than the leading national brand
Specially blended media
Higher dirt holding capacity
Longer change intervals
Ultrasonically welded end caps
Better seal
Greater filtering area
High strength, low restriction core
Patent-pending anti-drainback valve
Better engine performance during cold starts
High lubricity gasket

Obviously they are talking about the fram ocod which walmart carries. It seems that supertech has a lot of splanin to do.

Its all hype from the marketing dept. What does "traps 2 times more dirt than the leading national brand" mean? Holds more dirt or catches more dirt? Results of one of the SAE tests naming exact filters would be helpful.

I remember WIX claiming that they collected like 90% of all dirt, and like 70% more than the leading brand at one time (not sure of the exact numbers).I guess they must have been going after Fram as well.

Now Wix only hold 45% more dirt

This is what it really should say on the ST box - see edits below.

Specially blended media that can fold over and blow through the center core

Better seal
Greater filtering area
High strength, low restriction core
Wide open center core so media can possibley blow through it
Patent-pending anti-drainback valve that has questionable functionality and reliability - especially in cold climates
Better engine performance during cold starts if the combo ADBV/bypass valve works correctly
High lubricity gasket

I will still choose an ST over a Fram orange can if given only those 2 choices. I trust Champ Labs more than Honeywell in this case.
