Walking shoes, what's comfortable in reliable nowadays?

Merrell: Wear them everyday, light hiking shoe, good grip.

Kizik: Slip-on, summer shoe, flat and comfy. Walked all over Rome and Athens in a similar pair, didn't feel a thing.

Those look very comfy but that’s a $200 shoe up here 😥
I got lucky, these were on the clearance rack since they are an older style.

The current pair I have feels great but the tread is worn off.

I feel like should take a dremel or some type of iron and melt some tread lines back into rubber. I'd hate to get rid of a nice fitting shoe.

I have high arches and wide feet, so I really like Merrell Moab shoes. Brooks also offer a lot of arch support. Both the Moab and Brooks shoes are available in wide sizes.

I love walking in either.

Hoka and Brooks have been mentioned, but more specifically look at the Bondi and Glycerin models in particular for high cushion.

Got a pair of Adidas Gamecourt 2 shoes for dirt cheap on clearance that I use when we travel as they are very comfortable for walking on hard surfaces, like trying to make time through an airport on a tight connection.
I'd recommend these if you run across them at a reasonable price.

I'm a fan of Brooks for walking/running. Otherwise I wear Vans skate shoes lol. Not that I've ever skated in my life but I just find them comfortable.

HushPuppies Guss use to be a very comfortable shoe. Key words being "used to be". Someone decided to make them cheaper and lost the whole quality of the shoe.

Things change with time. I get it.

The walking shoe thread , we have here on bob is the oil guy it's becoming outdated, and it's also closed.

Having a left foot and ankle that has problems from a childhood accident, a comfortable light-weight every-day-use shoe is a huge thing for me.

So, what shoe(s) do you find to be outstanding in comfort for every-day-use nowdays.

My favorites are Brooks Addiction.

I'm looking for a lightweight, cushy, casual shoe that's on the narrow side of medium, especially in the heel. I bought some Sketchers slip-ins which were great initially. But after a short while my heel began moving around, and there's no way to snug them up. Fortunately, Amazon let me return them.

Any suggestions for walking, knock-around shoes?

Some Skechers, I agree for sure. But their construction and comfort level is all over the place so you need to be careful of what you're buying. The more expensive ones are like marshmallows but some of the slightly less expensive models are like a thin layer of memory foam over plasticy soles and are terrible. Buyer beware.
I have found their slip-in models to be on the wide side. I bought a regular 13, but they were more like 13 wide.
