Wagon superiority thread

W8 Passat all cleaned up and ready to roll down to the Tail of The Dragon for Wookies in The Woods 2024. Hope she makes it there/back! I've done a lot of maintenance over the last few mos so should be smooth sailing. Running HPL 5W40 in this one with Maxlife ATF for the TipTragic auto and Redline gear oils in the rear/center/front boxes. I got it in today and got a brake pad warning light (too thin), I have ~50% of my front pads left (looks like the sensor insert is at ~6mm/50% so probably just old/broke early) and these are ~$150 pads (4 per side!) so after inspecting it, just cut the wires to the pad sensor and jumped it. Warning light issue solved.

Fix the sunroof?

I think he's referring to your recent YT video of leaking Atlas panoramic roof, and simply has it confused with Passat. Or I could be wrong.
oh maybe - Passat's sunroof leaked week 1 I owned it...just cut off the ends of the f. drains and it was sorted.

So yesterday I traded in my 2022 Subaru Outback.

Twas a good car but I had the itch to get a true wagon. Been thinking of one of these for quite some time now and finally pulled the trigger

2024 Volvo V60 Recharge T8 Polestar. Do not have any pictures yet. So this one will have to do. This is a dream car for sure

Sorry to see the Subaru Outback Wilderness go, but that Volvo is stunning. We loved the Volvo XC70s that our family has owned and the local Volvo dealer has always been solid.

The Outback was/is a very fine automobile. I will miss it. But I am a wagon guy at heart and the Outback is not a "true" wagon. At least not to me. It is kind of wagon adjacent. So for that reason it didn't quite ring my bell completely. Now the Volvo is a pure wagon. With luxury and performance to boot

Eh, Outback is a station wagon to me....based 100% on teh Legacy sedan and while lifted, has the proper door to window proportions of a car.

Saw one yesterday. Very nice car. Impressive front brakes and with the electric motor, more power than my V70R. Sure wish it was available with a manual…

Really loving this car so far. Drives mostly in electric mode for my commute. So far have put almost 300 miles on it and averaging 71 mpg. Still have more than 3/4 tank available. Very quick calculation shows charging the battery from 0% to 100% costs about $3.50. That gets me 40 miles. So far it is costing less money to drive than the Outback as that got me 20 mpg. Hopefully long term these numbers will still be this good
