So the alternator is my mom's 2004 New Beetle Cabrio w/2.0L 8v BGD died this week and I have been shopping around for a new one. The husband of one of my co-workers own and operates a starter/alternator rebuild shop and has offered to sell me a rebuilt one at cost price.
So its $145 for a 14V 90A w/1yr Warranty or $160 for a 14V 120A w/1yr Warranty.
He claims you can put the 120A in place of the 90A without any problems? For $15 more I was thinking why not? The car is question has a lot of electronic accessories so it probably wouldn't hurt to have 30 more amps.
