VW ID.4 reservations exceed 40k+

Tesla only imports cars to Europe and they are production constrained, as everyone knows. Giga Berlin comes online soon, and from a manufacturing standpoint, outperforms VW by a long shot.
But dont take my word for it, listen to VW CEO Herbert Diess

Previous poster cited Nov numbers, I just supplied the link and included October as a throw in. Although it might appear so, i wasn't cherry picking the numbers, just showing the most recent month's. Nothing more, nothing less.
Can you post September? I think that was the Tesla delivery month, not sure.

Here's Jan to Nov....

Tesla has top selling vehicle.
VW beats the **** out of Tesla in total EV sale.
There you go. I fixed it for you.

Lets tweak it a bit further.

The VW Group (vs the brand VW) beats Tesla in total EV sales all brands combined by some amount in Europe. We'll see what the numbers say by year end.

Telsa is the top selling EV company in the world, and has the best selling EV Model in the world. We'll see what the numbers say by year end.

I agree.
Wait until VW gets in all markets.
People generally like to have brakes and suspension on their cars.

Glad they are doing well with the model. For me to get into an electric vehicle, they will have to make something that I can afford. $40K just won't do it.

I would love to know the margin on the ID.4. I bet they are upside down on those cars. Of course, I might be wrong. Just curious.

I'm not so sure but there's still money to be made in financing etc.
I would like to see the numbers. Rarely do legacy car makers break out numbers between ICE and EV. Did you know GM loses like $9,000 on every Bolt? And with the battery recall, it will be worse.
Their EV business is subsidized by their ICE business, and their ICE margins are pretty low.

Not sure if its just really thin or they are upside down. Of course somebody has to pay for all the new tooling and factories so from that perspective the line will be upside down for some time.

We know a year ago the dealer margins on the 4 leaked and its thin.

That author is the same clown that put out this remarkable gem:

He is a professional troll.

Maybe he is a clown but he highlights docs from the manufacturers.

He brought to light the VW Taycans utterly ludicrous temp storage window - that was mirrored in the manual.

The margin on the car is from VW, he just reprinted it.

What in your second link indicates he is a troll?

I was surprised to learn he's German. His self description from the Taycan article.

As a German who is proud of the heritage of the automotive industry in my home country, and as a former Porsche customer, I am truly shocked by what the whistleblower has told me. The cheating scandal has changed the culture in the German automotive industry many have told me for years, but it looks like the same structural problems remain and lead the industry right into the next big scandal.

Your dismissal of him brings an interesting point.
Why Does Clean Teechnica support him?
It seems they publish him, wouldnt all of Clean Technica's journalism become suspect?

I have my own issues with the way the article presents VW as doing something wrong when their goal is to build just enough to make the corp emissions standard. (prob because its a money loser) because thats probably the smart move for the shareholders.

As a consumer I could care less on how long it takes to build vehicle as long as quality, price low and build quality is high. I am sure Tesla will catch up on build quality , fit , finish and overall quality but they seem like Kia in early 2000.

From his webpage:
As a hyper-sensitive person and what experts call an Asberger, I luckily have some valuable skills that help me to find some seeds of truth that others can’t find and mostly don’t even see.
Today, I don’t need my “secret superpowers” because I received an accidentally leaked internal Volkswagen document (special thanks to Antoine). It gives us interesting insights into how VW management incentivizes dealers for every ID.4 sold.
The confidential Volkswagen document on my desk has been sent to French dealers and allows me to prove some misinformation — or what some of you may want to call lies from Volkswagen. It also enables me to state that claims Greenpeace made recently about VW are correct.

He cannot even lie correctly about his “Asberger”. It’s Asperger and if he had it you would think he would know how to spell it. And he doesn’t even have a direct source to VW documents, thanks Antoine? Clown show.

Sure. CEO Diess was speaking to the Tesla advantage over VW from a manufacturing efficiency standpoint.
