Some of us VW owners anticipate AT :LEAST 500k miles. Only an accident resulting in unrepairable damage will cause me to get rid of my Golf prematurely.

TR, how do you like your Akebono pads? Good points and bad points?

Thanks

They are fine. I chose them almost entirely because I did not like at all the dust produced by a set of Pagid pads I had earlier. In fact, I replaced the Pagids when they still had 75% of life remaining... I just got tired of all the dust on my alloy wheels after only 1-2 days of driving.

The Akebono ceramic pads work best when they are warmed up. Then they work fine in wet or dry; they are quiet, they are clean, they are long-lasting.

Amen! My 'Dubs are built like Panzers. At worst, they've been as reliable as any of the Japanese and domestic hardware I've dealt with.

Guess the brand of pads I'm currently thinking of replacing?
