It's not OEM to Volkswagen Auto Group.
Castrol has the contract with VW for its oil needs.

I guess if you can afforda new ferrari you wouldn't be concerned about the cost to clean the valves ha ha
Jeff
In Europe, Shell is the OE supplier to Ferrari, including their F1 program and Ferrari's Scuderia vehicles.

If you don't have an oil burner like my Passat 2.0T is (still is), should be fine.
It is especially important if you want to keep your warranty to use a VW-spec oil.
Otherwise, Shell Rotella T6 has served me well... which has a SAPS of 1.0. About 100,000 miles is when I need to clean the intake.
So what is causing your car to burn oil? If you can't use a heavy 30w like most 504 and 502 oils are something is wrong. Most of the 40w 502 oils will shear to a 30w range anyway.
Your car doesn't burn any of the T6?
Jeff
Of course it does. It's also a relatively inexpensive oil and very robust additive package. even with 170,000 miles, I burn roughly 3/4 quart per 1000 miles, still below the threshold for oil burning problem.
