I have 02 maxima vq35, i know people shave the block for room but i dont feel like taking and metal off the block. i use the M1-108 filter.

The M1-105 will fit a 2002 Maxima with room to spare.

I generally run M1 Synthetic 5W-30. My car has no consumption issues, but the oil has shown high Fe wear after 5K mile intervals. I have switched to M1 EP but have not done another UOA.

There is a member here on the board running PP 5W30 in his Murano and has shown very good UOA results. His Murano has somewhere near 80K+ miles and his sampling has been every 10K or so.

I'm considering switching to PP 5W30 if my next UOA still has high Fe.

I run QSUD 5w-30 with a Napa Gold or P1 PL14610 oil filter and my OCI is 7-8K.

My '05 Infiniti G35 is running fine at 56K mile with no oil consumption issues.

You are doing great if that is all your car uses.
My 2002 used the entire sump worth of oil by the time I'd hit 5K miles. Some people had it even worse.


You're kidding? The entire sump? Man I am surprised- I thought my '01 M-B is bad at 1 quart per 1,500-2k miles. Guess I do not know that much about the VQ and its various versions...


Oh yeah easily.
I used to add about half a quart a week to my Maxima.
I loved the car and it ran like a top (and pulled like a train) but it always consumed oil when I had it.
The previous owner though was not really a car guy and I can tell he didn't take care of it properly.

Some people on Maxima.org reported it got as bad as a quart every few hundred miles.

BTW, I meant to say I run full syn Q-Horsepower 5W-30 at 7-8K OCI.

I been running RP oil for last 4 times (5,000-6,000 interval) with mobil one filter n I never had any oil burn. I have 2004 maxima. In two week I'm switching to 5w30 redline oil from 0w40 Rp oil. I'm on 0w40 Rp current.

My 2006 Nissan Murano with 85,000 miles uses maybe 1/2 quart in a 7500 mile OCI. I had been using Mobil 1 but now use Penzoil Platinum.
