VIRGIN DONALDSON #P 55132 CUT OPEN

Here are my cut open photos related posted weeks ago. Thinking about running one of these over the FE3600 since I'm about 900 miles away to 5000 on my Fram FS3600 which is on its first run of HPL oil to inspect for loading/cleaning & sample oil for analysis from the filter.

I bought some N42SH and Grade 26 Somarium Cobalt disc to give magnetic assisted filtration a try since I'm doing extended drain trials now on my vehicle for the first time.

All of a sudden "Made in Mexico" never looked so good before. This is an excellent looking filter w/wire backing & $6 a piece what a deal. This is a good c & p.

Yes and I just bought 18 more. Although, don’t ever buy older stock PROTEC and or AUTO EXTRA . They tear like the plague.

And you are welcome sir Justin 🍺🇺🇸👍🇨🇦😍😍

For your stash or the shop? customers might love you if its for the shop haha. 18 for 6 bucks each is roughly over 100 bucks. Not bad

filter looks good just wish it had a silicone ADBV
Same, I'd replace my FS3600 stock if they made a Synteq DBL version of the P550400 which crosses to the YZZD3 / 3600.

My work is bunch of penny pinchers. Ordered the Donaldsons for my two focus’s and lady’s car. Life is fluid sondonated case of CHAMP PH 2835 filters to local shop. Living heat life I can so far.

Great looking filter! Thanks for the C&P! Interesting that they use a nitrile adbv on a premium filter. Though I will admit in almost 25 years of changing oil I’ve only had an adbv “fail” once. And that was about 10 years ago on a NAPA Silver.

They are no longer nitrile … been about 4 years that way - I Ieft an used one in the sun for months and still not hard … They hold a quart of U tube every time - and I’m at the end of a dozen box …
they may not be nitrile but they’re not silicone. at the end of an OCI they are hard. our trucks get run hard and put up wet.

You have what you think is a large fleet but it’s a drop in the bucket for GM’s on the road - engines are full of this material …
to use your line - agree to disagree

it may be a small fleet but it’s quite a bit larger sample size than most on here. but we can agree to disagree. nothing i own/work on will get a nitrile ADBV spun on it, nor a Fram EG/TG.

Again, the vehicles are full of this material …

mine is not and never has been nor are any in our fleet. quality oil/filter will cure piston slap. i maintain over 80 LS/LT vehicles.
I’ve never had a 2014 plus LS engine. So I can’t speak on that later design. But I had 3 2007-2013 generation GM Trucks. And all of them had piston slap at start up. That was with synthetic oil and Wix filters at the time.
