Santa Claus arrives in June

member getawheel sent me a package of some used oil filters. Hard to make out date code on this filter. Judging by “crud/junk” in can and on baseplate I’d say engine had some stuff that filter caught.

This filter was run on a customer’s 1MZ-FE for 7,500 miles with Mobil 1 High Mileage.
When I first encountered this car, it had ~260k on it and the oil had not been changed or even topped off in years. Sludge had blocked the oil pickup and burned up the oil pump. First several oil changes after that carried junk out with it; this filter looks much cleaner than any of the previous ones.
