Vintage craftsman parts?

You couldn't pay me to take one of those pear headed ratchets from the 2000s. Utter Garbage even if it was made in the US.
I have the long handled 3/8" "Professional" that I use a lot, but the other versions I have do just sit in the drawer... even the other "Professional" versions.

Back when Sears was still alive, I returned a '90s era 1/4" drive ratchet just like in the OP and received a rebuilt copy that didn't function any better than the one I returned. I just wrote it off and bought a new ratchet elsewhere.
LOL I had the same experience! The little flipper was loose on mine and I expected better on the replacement. No such luck. But I have since disassembled, cleaned, and relubed it with Superlube and it is much better now. No idea what the problem was before i disassembled it, but the grease was not very plentiful. I still have that ratchet but it is no longer on the A Team; the Pittsburgh swivel and Capri flex work better in most situations.

Anyone ever disgusted by what new Craftsman screwdrivers used to smell like? I think some were made by Pratt-Read, or Waterloo. Did not matter who made them, they all smelled like puke lol.

It's the acetate handles on them. It decomposes into that foul smell. A coat of clear would fix it
