I have bottles of all kinds of vintage oil just going to waste. Planning to use them up on my predator 63cc china generator which will be running in the winter at 3600 rpm's. I plan to use up all of the outboard TCW based oils first. Just need to know what ratio. All are older brite stock and based on smells are cut with stoddard solvent to thin them down. Was thinking 32:1 or shall I go more?

The cylinders on these are just cast iron with no coating.

I should re-phrase. Many open bottles from way back. Dad couldnt find it, so he opened another.

All of my really vintage oils that are in tins are still sealed for decoration.

Those little 800w generators are Yamaha clones. Most of them work well when used within their design limits once the Torch spark plug is replaced. Buddy of mine has one, we ran it loaded for 12+ hours straight per day for a lot of engine show weekends. It never glitched once.

What is the recommended by the manufacturer?

I know that for Chinese clones usually is recommended 25:1 because they are made with cheaper metal as the OP mentioned the cylinder is not coated. I would definitively use TC-W oil at no leaner ratio than 25:1. Even for Stihl equipment (that some of them run magnesium pistons) is recommended 50:1 with Stihl oil but 25:1 if any other oil is used. It says it in the manual.

50:1 is recommended. Being in CA, we ran them mercilessly on 40:1 Tru Fuel. They have a cast iron cylinder.

32 to 1 is a great ratio for those engines. Believe it or not, there was a guy with 4000 hours on one, but he had a 50HZ version, so 3000 RPM.

FWIW, TCW oils can work quite well in air cooled two strokes, especially these little generators. They don't run hot, and are not heavily loaded. Just expect some exhaust buildup with old school oils.
