Hello and just found some VERNORS soda today on sale at the Giant Eagle. My gosh, I havent had that in ages and it tastes great. Kinda almost make ya choke at first but its good. Anyone here remember the VERNORS soda?

My grandparents just across the border in Eastern Ohio swore by their ginger ale.

Yeah, I remember my grandfather telling us grandkids that VERNORS was real big in the Punxsutawney area years ago.

None of that sweet, sugary, dry, no heat stuff for me...Vernors is what Ginger Ale is supposed to be.

Blenheim is also some very good Ginger Ale if you like it with that spicy heat similar to Vernors.

I recall buying that in Rochester NY, mid 1980's. Bottled in Buffalo IIRC.

I remember how bad it was, and still is. When I used to live in the Detroit burbs as a kid they sold it everywhere and I despised it. Still do.

Yes, I loved that stuff as a kid. Aged in wood as I recall. Had some a few years ago, and it does not have the flavor of year ago, but still a nice change. Need to serve it of ice as its a bit harsh.

vernors is old school ginger ale. I prefer Schweppes dry grape, but thats really hard to find now.

Anyone know or remember NEHI soda? What happened to it, and is it still made? It wasnt around when I was growing up.

That was Radars drink...Grape Nehi.

Orange Nehi is one of my favorite pops, still out there...but very hard to find.

Another great old name to try when you run across it is Nesbitts, they have a great Orange Soda as well.
