Vegetarian Burgers

I've had the "Impossible Whopper" and the Taco Cabana (a Texas counter-service Tex-Mex chain) Beyond Meat taco.

The Impossible Whopper was pretty good- had I been presented with it as someone else's hamburger, I wouldn't have realized that it wasn't beef. It wasn't quite right for a Whopper, but it was still pretty good. I'm with the others who question if it's not lower calorie or lower fat, what's the point?

The Beyond Meat taco wasn't fooling anyone. It wasn't bad, but it was clearly a meat substitute of some kind.

The only other vegetable faux meat product I can think of that I've had is the Morningstar Farms breakfast sausage patties. Those things are great! They're clearly not pork sausage patties, but they're clearly breakfast sausage and very tasty. I would be very happy if I were to get those for breakfast somewhere.
There is big point if you take into consideration how long it takes red meat top fully digest in your body vs vegetable nuts and fruits.

I whole heartedly agree that food distribution companies stretch the definition of Vegan to the limits. A vegan diets is suppose to be healthy. Some of those so called vegan or vegetarian foods well, read the ingredient's, read what is in them. Also remember that the FDA say a food company has the choice to label the nutritional value either before or after the food product has been processed. At least that was the way it use to be?
And good lock finding that info now because the FDA has buried it and you need to contact them via web form and request the documentation and information about food labeling as I described.

Since my cousin retired this past February, he's had a lot of time on his hands.
Yesterday evening (4 PM) he invited me and my lady friend over for a bbq. The menu consisted of vegetarian burgers, Brats, and potato salad.
He and his wife have been trying to cut back on red meat and decided to try some veggie burgers. The only time I have eaten a veggie burger is when BK came out with the Incredible Whopper. The burgers he grilled were not bad at all.
Does anyone else here eat vegetarian burgers, or is a vegetarian? What is the difference between a vegetarian and a vegan?

That is some stupid ******** made up by dunno who.

Should you eat too much soy NO
Do some of the compounds in soy resemble various hormones in ALL human bodies? Yes kinda sorta
Will eating soy cause female characteristics in male humans? NO.

Hahahahahahahhahahhaahhahaa funny.

Man tits are from too much body fat!!

I've always been an omnivore leaning towards carnivore. I just love eating meat, by which I mean any kind of animal protein. However, I know that too much of a good thing becomes a bad thing and over the years I have made adjustments. I have increasingly incorporated more plant protein into my diet while cutting down on animal protein. I've cut down on red meat to once a week.

I'm not a fan of plant food processed to resemble meat. I'm just not a fan of imitation food. There are plenty tofu and other plant-based dishes that taste better than any imitation meat product made from soy.

On a Lenten Friday, I tried the BK Impossible Burger and I could tell it wasn’t real meat, but that it was a good-tasting non-meat burger. It reminded me of the Morningstar Grillers I would eat when I was doing weight watchers back around 1999. Back then, I also liked the Boca faux chicken patties as well. Around 2010, when I was dieting again, I discovered Quorn products, and they were a good-tasting chicken substitute in my opinion.

REAL food for real people!! even though meats like everything else are not as good as years ago it contains ESSENTIAL nutrients that are the most absorbable + easily used by the body!! there are NO essential carbohydrates BUT essential amino acids + fats ONLY come from meats + fish. if you can afford it organic + grass feed + finished meats are best but $$$$$. as always your choice BUT a look around at obesity + diabetes tells you we eat poorly, too much + too often IMO!!!!

Yes….I typically have lettuce, tomato, and onions on my “hand crafted“ 80/20 1/4 lb burgers from my Weber charcoal kettle grill.…..close enough! 🥬🍅🧅=🍔….minus the artery clogging cheese! 👊

Everything in moderation or your colonoscopy will yield many gifts.
If you can eat less red meat per week by consuming non- meat substitutes to satisfy a meat craving, that is good. Of course at that point you could just eat a vegetable dish with a lot of fiber. Whatever works
