Vegetarian Burgers

many plant products "look" similarly nutritient wise BUT are poorly absorbed + many plants have phytates that protect them + inhibit absorption of necessary nutritients. there are NO essential carbs but essential amino acids from REAL meat is best + dont fret saturated fats as they are actually the GOOD fats INO + of many savy nutritionists!

Lol

We eat vegan 2-3 days a week, and by default vegetarian 3-4.....which means I get some real (lean) animal protein 2-4 times a week. At 62, no I am not perfect, but at 170#'s I can mountain bike, hike all day, work my assets off..........my weakness is BREAD. And last I checked, no animal products. Sugars I can resist easily. But white flour plays havoc with my blood sugar.
At your age .... I would still do at least a full blood work up once a year , check your BP at least over a 3-5 day period different times of the day about every 3 months, watch your weight fluctuation also at least a few times a year.

Excessive bread consumption can have other less then the best health results besides raising your blood sugars.

Just be careful my freind !

So why not just go completely vegetarian at least? I understand going vegan is a commitment process and needs to be shared with a pardoner to be more successful but it sounds like you are on the path anyway?

LOL I have been at least a vegetarian for almost 40 years and several of those years off and on and now 100% two years vegan. I assure you aside from minor genetic concerns( was on gerber formula and goats milk at birth) that can not be corrected now I think I am in pretty good health with DATA indicating so. NO problems that were caused by being a Vegan! lol
Just had a complete work up plus addition on 7/01/21
No these are not my results but if anyone is interested in getting one themselves?

I have often wondered why we see more reports coming-out trying to have people believe and continue to eat dairy and animal products???? HMMMMM! LOL

Yes I now get a check up and blood test 1/year

Yeah bread makes me FAT. It's my weakness, but I have a grip on it. I eat like a diabetic now, no meals with over 30 grams of carbs - meaning simple type carbs. I am careful, but meat is not some kind of verboten item. The protein density is just not going to be matched. Soy? Oh HELL NO. Eggs? no, they have drawbacks and it's not cholesterol, plus not even vegan.

We truly are ominvores. That's just a fact. BUT massive amounts of meat in one sitting, yikes! Good lean, organic beef from a local farm? If someone is afraid of this as a food source, I am truly sorry. I mean I get it, if for ethical reason or religious reasons, but 2-6 ounces every 3rd or 4th day will not shorten the human life.

Processed meats, cured meats. injected chicken............not good...........

We have this discussion at least twice a year and goes nowhere ends in a my diet is best and yours sucks .
IMO at times some information may be reconsidered. I never say mine is a "BETTER" diet, but I will say it works for me. I stopped recommending people change their lifestyle of what they eat decades ago. No one is going to change even people that get serious health condition because of their chosen diet are resistant to change.
Your quote again:
We have this discussion at least twice a year and goes nowhere ends in a my diet is best and yours sucks .
*How would anyone know what diet is better and healthier for you? Only you will decide and choose in the end. So when I see comments similar on other forums even health related forums like yours maybe think about what * I just said and "GOOD HEATLH TO YOU" !

I have never seen a thread/post on the subject here. If I have I just never found any interest in it. As long as there is good ole red meat, yard birds, and other misc. meat creatures, I will stick with them.

I’ve had impossible burgers and beyond burgers, the impossible is a bit better to me.

Vegans do not eat (or use) any animal products, so no milk, eggs, honey, real butter and so forth. Vegetarians are much less strict.
And, they're still alive? Sounds like they want to starve themselves. 😲 🤷‍♂️

Big fan of Franklin Farms original veggie burger.

A lot of people seem to think veggie burgers are trying to taste like meat; although some are, most aren't. It is just a different taste and some people can't get past that.
I got past the taste of them by loading them up with Miracle Whip, Sweet Baby Rays, cheese, pickles, mustard, and Tony Chachere's Bold seasoning. Heh, what veggie burger?

To preface for save the debate yes you can live well on a dairy and red meat free diet. I have been a vegetarian since 1982. I have been on and off vegan but my wife and I are 100% only Vegan now.

The ingredients makes or breaks the true nutritional and health value of the Vegan food like "burgers". It really is all about the ingredient's. Unfortunately no all those "burgers" mention are the healthiest and some have ingredients that can effect your health in the negative the same way red meats can. What for salt amount. Monkeys and humans love their salt. At least Monkey use sea salt and not processed salt.

Here is the funny thing about being a vegan or vegan why do the food have to look like real animal meat? LOL
My wife makes vegan balls, vegan sausage, burgers and even vegan spare ribs and they all look like real animal meat products?

Some of you might try Field Roast Hand form burger.

All Natural 100% Vegan
