Here is the teensy little filter from my wife’s Nissan Rogue. Seemed like a decent filter, although the ADBV was dang stiff. Fiber end caps were stuck on pretty well, and they’re thick as you can see. No krinkles in the leaf, uh, spacer (I can’t call it a spring because it’s not a spring), so I presume it sealed well.

It is a spring, since it flexes slightly to put pressure on the guts of the filter. Yes, a model leaf spring in terms of a smooth stamping in the area that seals on the end cap.

Always interested to see who's making these jobber/commercial filters like topic now. I really can't say but as I don't recognize domestic type, off shored seems likely. Topic bypass piece seal area is how one should look, smooth and full area, properly done.

Thanks for c&p.

Great work. What went back in and on?

According to this post, Valvoline oil filters are under the PG portfolio, but that doesn’t look like the typical PG type construction.

This one sure doesn’t. I’ve seen others that were PGI.

One of those factories there in China uses this style of construction... I assume under facilitation of PG for this filter and possibly Highline Warren for Prime Guard but it looks obvious that it is the same factory.
