This will be boring or most as this is the a short run not pushing the envelope. I read the comment about the lube mixing, but I looked up a VOA of VRP 5w30 and the moly looked about the same to me. There was no Lube mixing beside what was left over from the change prior. This was the first run of VRP and I was just curious. Don't plan on testing again until the end of the 4th run of VRP. The initial fill was 4.4 QTs with an additional 0.6 QTs added as top off. The viscosity seems odd to me. Yes it has had some short tripping, but fuel dilution is low.

The only illogical answer I have, is VRP is so good at cleaning, that it took a lot of carbon out of our 200,000 mile plus engine, and kept it suspended in the oil so it was like thinner and stuff... that makes no sense right =P lol this last bit was a joke if not clear.

Since this was the first run with VRP, you likely still had some oil left from the previous OCI. It's recommended to run two OCI of the same oil before testing it.

Depending on the vehicle, there will be sometimes a significant amount of old oil left on drain. When looking at a UOA, this will be most noticeable when the old oil additive package is significantly different than the new oil. For example, let's say the old oil had no magnesium and the new oil has 1000ppm. The UOA of the new oil will show something between 700-900ppm magnesium most likely and could be flagged the way Oil Analyzers did yours.

If the old and new oils are the same, or have a very similar additive package, then you won't be able to see much difference. Likewise, if ~99% of the old oil drains out, then you won't see much difference either.

Using elastic bands, and paper towel. Getting the oil absorbed off it since I did the change. Hoping to take a closer looks in a few days.

I posted a VOA for VRP 5w30 in Jan of 2024.
Moly is 171
Viscosity is 10.7
so it's understandable why they flagged those.
But the VOA has fuel dilution at 1.3 - GC. INTERESTING
Maybe it's the mystery additive that's doing cleaning???????????

It doesn't have a column for milliliters and I can't choose decimals for quarts or liters. I added over the OCI 500ml. Or if you prefer. It was a 5quart jug, 4.4 quart initial fill, 0.6 top up quarts added.

That's a nice workaround, actually. I'm annoyed that OAI only allows whole numbers there and you have found a way around that.

If I get a UOA I wait until the end of the 2nd OCI using the same oil .
