Another Toyota 0W20 question. (or two)
2014 Corolla; Synthetic 0W20. 10,000 OCI specified with free oil changes every 10K thru 60K
Dealer originally said they use TGMO single bottles; evidently that has changed as I recently found out they are now using bulk Valvoline 0W20 (Synpower?)
They do have the TGMO 0W20 in single quarts as I bought one for top offs if needed and I can specify using it (I always use the same service writer and he said he would make sure TGMO is used but there may or may not be an additional charge) This is actually a pretty good dealer and they take pretty good care of their customers. Been buying from and using them for many years.
Does it really matter - Valvoline or TGMO? I am inclined to specify the TGMO. If there is an additional charge it should be minimal.
Also: 10,000 OCI; I had the oil changed at just under 5K on my dime and just had the second at 10,000. Normal (not severe) service; should I stay with 5K intervals and pay for every other one or go ahead with 10K intervals. I tend to keep a car for a long time and fresh oil is comparat6ively cheap insurance.
Thanks
